Missing Oprah?

I've never been a diehard Oprah fan, but I have always liked her ability to do a good interview. I have found that I am missing her show lately. Is there anyone on TV doing good interviews/shows? I'm talking about interviewing real people with real stories - not celebrities. Yes, I know, Oprah did a lot of celebrity interviews, but she also did some great, eye opening real life interviews.

So my question is: What shows are you watching that are not centered around celebrity stories/gossip?

BTW.....I was lucky enough to attend an Oprah taping at Harpo Studios in October 2009 and she is hilarious!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I don't usually watchTV during the day, but I used to DVR Oprah and watch it after the kids were in bed. I just miss seeing real life interviews with real people like all of us. I am so sick of celebrity gossip stuff and that is all that seems to be on.

Grumbles too because The Talk kinda helped soothe that ache and now they have a HORRID line up. They were not as good at interviews but they were pretty fun to listen to for the most part and I enjoyed hearing (caddy or not) their "round table" discussions.

I am not a daytime TV watcher, never have been and never had the time. I listen to a lot of radio (music).

A LONG time ago I did like Oprah for entertainment but I lost interest in her because of her agenda the last few years.

I don't miss her and I don't watch anything in the daytime.

I was so sick of her and she'll be around forever.

Anderson Cooper's show is good. He has his mom on a lot and you can see how much he loves her. I love that Silver Fox!

So far nada. The only daytime tv talk I've been watching is The View and Regis & Kelly--then it's on to a double dose of Caillou before lunch time :(

Have you watched Anderson Cooper's show? I tried to one day, but he had that medium, Jonathan Edwards on, and I just couldn't take him seriously after that.

Barring a rare exception, I don't watch any daytime shows. I used to, but somehow slipped out of it.

I prefer to listen to online radio - i.e., Dave Ramsey from 2 - 5 pm. Then I can get other stuff done at the same time. I notice when the TV is on I fritter away time more easily. I also can't stand all the drug ads. It's just ridiculous.

I get her new channel OWN. She has what's called "Lifeclass" now. It is really good. I was never that much of an Oprah fan either, but this show is very awesome.
I havent seen any shows that resemble her old talk show at all.

Do you not get her television station, OWN, Oprah Winfrey's Network? She is on there often. We have DISH and get it. My friend has cable and doesn't, here in Portland, OR.

I personally think Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb (on the last hour of "Today") are really funny. I'm not usually home at 10am, so I DVR them. They don't do anything serious like Oprah did, but they are certainly entertaining. And speaking of entertaining, try Ellen! She's hilarious!

I'll give a vote for Ellen too. She is funny, and does a lot of surprises for people and things, which I love. also a lot of celebrities too though. it's entertaining.

i was thinking the other day that i kind of miss her show too, even though i might have caught it a once or twice a week at the most.
