Garlic oil has been working for us so far. My son is highly allergic and the mosquitos really love him, too. They seem to like me also but I'm not allergic like he is. Anyway...I just got garlic oil from the cooking section (with the olive oils, etc.--mine is actually olive oil infused with garlic). Just rub it on the feet and then put a pair of socks on. The garlic will quickly absorb into the bloodstream and mosquitos hate garlic. Whatever is left on my hands after rubbing in the feet I just smear on the arms and legs. You will smell a little like garlic but I think it smells better than all of those bug sprays, plus it's non toxic!

Melaleuca has a cleaning/spot remover/odor remover/multi-purpose product called 'Sol-U-Mel'. It is non toxic, biodegradable, completely harmless to children and animals. In fact I tell my 4 yr old to close her eyes and spray it directly in her face, then all down her legs and arms. It works so well and she could drink it and not have to call poison control. Message me for more info.

I have used Burt's Bees Lemongrass Insect Lotion, and it works well. It is made up of natural ingredients so maybe it won't break your little one out in a rash.

I heard last night you can rub a dryer sheet on their skin and it will repell them. Have no idea if it works or not. Maybe try it on yourself first!

C.,

There are several products for repelling mosquitos that are not a spray - there are wrist bands, little sonic fobs and shirts that are treated to repel mosquitos. The shirts are expensive and I would only get one for a special occassion (like camping, where she could wear it during the evening while camping or the like). However, I have tried both the sonic fobs and wrist bands (mosquitos seem to really, really like me... I'm allergic and somehow they seem to know that and zero in on me... always have - kinda sounds like your daughter). Anyway, they are not as effective with Off! with deet, but it does make it better.

I have also heard of the dryer sheet method, but have never tried it, so I don't know if it works.

Long sleeves and light colored clothing help, too.

Hi. Put a dryer sheet in her back pocket. The smell keeps them away.

There is an all natural spray that they sell at Babies R Us called Natrapel Plus. It kind of does have a funny smell but it seems to work really well. No bites on my 8 month old when he wears it. Hope this helps.
