Mirina IUD and Pregnancy

I had my IUD out in the beginning of December and within a week I started my period. Once my period was over, I immediately had "symptoms" of being pregnant - my breasts became very sensitive and sore. Honsetly, the IUD is probably different for everyone. Give it time. My Dr. said that I should be pregnant within 6 months of having it out and just this last week I found out I am! It's kind of frustrating, but there really isn't anything you can do but give it time. Hi J.. So, I just spoke with a midwife that I work with and she said it is totally normal to be irregular after having an IUD taken out.You can be irregular for up to a few months. You can have some irregular spotting and then a period or no period at all. HOWEVER, you can get pregnant right away after having an IUD removed so take another test and followup up with your Dr.

I've been there. The hormones in the IUD can screw up your first cycle after removal for some people. If you did have sex 1-3 days before having it removed there is a chance you could be pregnant though so make sure you call your doc and get a blood test. A Blood test will give a correct reading 5 days after conception. Good luck!

IUD's usually mess up your system for a while.
You could try some natral progestrone in cream form to help
get you back on track. Arbone has a great one. I could tell you how to get it and use it if you want me to.
Cream form is best because it doesn't have to go throught the liver, so you get the full benifits of nutrients.

I couldnt wait, I'd probably test again, A gal I work with got prego the month after having her Mirena removed, I had mine removed Dec 7, spotted that day, nothing for a couple days and started my period like 4 days after it was removed. I waited 1 month to TTC (try to conceive) to let my utenine lining thicken back up and got on prenatles, and my cycle is 25 days long, and I seem to be totally regular and ovulating (I use ovulator predictator kits), I O on cycle day 11 and menses exactly 14 days after O. My other friend got KU not the first month but very next month after having her's removed. I'm sharing this with you so you can compare your symptoms and I think you very well may be KU, maybe you just O'd later than you thought, from what I've seen, women who have the mirena IUD dont have problems getting KU after its removed vs. birth controll, depo, patch, etc. so I'd test again :), Good luck and congrats if you are KU!!
