I had mine for three years, and had no problems with it. Only took it out to get pregnant, which I did the month after removal.
Thinking about switching from the pill to something that I don't have to remember daily.
Do you use Mirena? Did you have any problems?
I had mine for three years, and had no problems with it. Only took it out to get pregnant, which I did the month after removal.
A friend of mine said insertion was extremely painful. Another friend got pregnant on Mirena and miscarried. Not to be a downer - Just letting you know.
Mirena only good if you like severe, frequent migraines, high blood pressure, being dizzy, fat, and fatigued, want your face to look like a teenager's pizza face, want ovarian cysts, and want to completely lose your sex drive.
NOTHING good to say about Mirena. It's evil.
OH NO!!!! dont use it!!! i had it for a year i felt it pinch me all the time and during sex would stab my hubby. I felt like i was going crazy all the time with the mood swings. And not to mention the weight gain. I gained back all my baby weight and then some and did everything to get it off and nothing worked. My periods were crazy and all over the place. Plus it makes you super tired all the time. When i got it out i felt like a new person. I try to warn everyone against the Mirena. If you get it good lucky sweetie. Hope this helps
used it, felt it all the time...got pregnant on it...lost the baby at 7 weeks, got it taken out and will never ever say to someone to get it...but that is just me.
I have had mirena for almost 2 years and only have a few complaints.
I swear it gives me mood swings. Some days I just feel depressed. Other than that I haven't had any problems. I do have to say that it does hurt more than they say to have it put in and I am not looking forward to having it replaced at the end of the 5 years.
So for the most part I love it. It's better than having to remember to take a pill everyday.
I love it. I had it after my second daughter for 3 years. Never had any problems with it. Then had it removed to have another one and now I have it again! It's really convenient because you don't have to worry about it or remember anything. Us girls have enough to think about. Both times I got it, it was uncomfortable but not to the extreme. I've been on it now for 10 months and so far so good! Good luck!
I have had mine for over 2 years and LOVE that I do not have to try to remember to take pills. My only issue is I still randomly spot but not even for a day and get a little crampy from time to time. Every person is different, so do your research and decided if it is right for you. And talk to your gyno before deciding.
I'm starting my 4th year and I like it. The hormones from the pill and the patch gave me debilitating headaches, but no problems with the hormones from the Mirena. Insertion was very painful for me, but that may be because of an intestinal condition I have. I have light or no periods, after some initial spotting the first few months. It is much better for me than the copper IUD I had previously.
I've had it for almost 4 years. LOVE it and will get it replaced when it's time is up next year. I will never use another form of contraception again (I hated the pill).
The only issues where irregular spotting for the first 6 months or so, but I was also nursing, so it's hard to say whether that played a role.
Yes, I have had it for 5 years and it is due for replacement.
I haven't had any problems.
Love my Mirena best thing i ever did. I have had mine for 2 years now and have not had any problems with it. For the first few weeks after getting it put in there was a lot of bleeding but since then i have not had a period. I got mine because pills were not effective for me anymore(hence my daughter is here) . Just do all your research, I have heard that some people have had problems with them but not me. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
I have one and I love it. I had problems w/insertion - it didn't want to take so my uterus basically went into labor to spell it and THAT WAS NO FUN. But after 2 tries it stayed. Slight discomfort the first day was nothing Advil couldn't cure, and nothing after that. No bleeding or pain or side effects, changes in my diet or body. If anything, it stabilized my hormones, I'm not so moody and I'm a bit thinner!
I'm on my 3rd Mirena. LOVE them!! No problems. After my first one, I got pregnant 10 days after having it removed. Love having the lighter periods, and once it's in, you don't have to think about it.
Yes and love it and no problems
I'm on my second and I love it! It took about 3 months for my periods to sort of even out and be regular but once they did I got periods, very light, regularly. After another few months I stopped having periods all together. It's awesome.
I LOVED my mirena, only got it taken out to get pregnant, had some adjusting to do after it was out with my hormones balancing out but other than that it was the best compared to any other BC out there.. didn't get fat, didn't get acne, and my periods almost completely went away.. 2-5 days every few months if that. It was great.
I have not used Mirena. But I LOVE Nuvaring. Only side effect I notice is more discharge then usual...but I use an ultra thin panty liner to take care of that. You can take it out for sex, only if it bothers either of you. (Hit or miss w/ us...sometimes we feel it, sometimes we don't) Just remember, you can't have it out for more then 3 hours.
Good luck and HTH
