What can I do next?

As long as you are sure that you aren't pregnant again, I wouldn't worry about it. Now that the baby is older you are going to be producing more milk and your hormones from breastfeeding along with the hormones from the pill are more than likely the cause of your lack of periods.
I breast fed four children and my periods were always sporadic.

I stopped nursing and taking the mini pill when my daughter turned 1. I never got my period. 6 weeks after waiting I took a home pregnancy test and shocked my husband. I know a few friends that this has happened to as well. Good luck!

Hi Jessica,
I took the mini pill as well when I was breastfeeding. Once I got off of it (after 3 months of breastfeeding), I switched right to Ortho-Tricyclin (sp?!). My periods were then irregular for a little whille, coming & going, here for a couple of days then not for a while, etc. Now my son is seven months, & mine are completely regular. Not sure if this helps at all?! Have a good week!

It could be the way your body is reacting to the change in hormones, but you should really call your gyn and make an appointment, just incase there is a problem.

My period came back right away doing the same thing after baby #2: we also did the mini-pill plus nursing. Then we decided to repeat the process after baby #3, but then one month it didn't come back....welcome baby #4! :)
It's totally normal for your period to be "messed up" during and after nursing or when stopping the use of the pill. Call the doctor and ask his/her opinion. If it doesn't come back soon, get a pregnancy test just to be sure. :)

Could you be pregnant? it seems likely that you might be since even though nrsing and pills do stuff to you cycle you've been off long enough for your hormones to get back to normal. Take the test and make an oppintment with your OBGYN.

I stopped nursing my youngest at 15 months (back in February 2006) and I hadn't had a period the entire time I nursed him and I was on the mini pill. I did finally have a horrible period a few weeks after I stopped nursing him and come to find out it wasn't a period at all, I had a miscarriage. I would just mention it to your OB/GYN and if you aren't planning on getting pregnant soon you should get on a regular pill or something else because you are extremely fertile when you first stop nursing.
