Since the first name is just one syllable, I like a longer name to go with it.
Madeleine
Genevieve
Vivienne
Bethany/Elizabeth
Winnifred
Samantha
Amanda
My husband and I are expecting (we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl) Anyway...one girl name we like is Hope, but we are having a hard time thinking of a middle name to go with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
G.
So many great suggestions! Many of which I hadn't thought of. Now I just need to talk it over with my hubby:)
Thanks you all are the best!

Another option is to make "Hope" her middle name and choose another name for her first name - she could still use "Hope" as the name she goes by. IMO "Hope" sounds nice with a 3-syllable first name, e.g. "Michaela Hope", "Katherine Hope", "Brianna Hope", "Alexis Hope", etc.
Having 2 boys, there are so many girl names I like. :) The one that keeps coming to mind that goes well with Hope is "Alicia" ....Hope Alicia. :)
Also, you can use the site:

Have fun. :)
I like Hope Danielle or Hope Elizabeth. :) i agree that longer is better with a short name.
Rianne
Rhiannon
Marie
Liliana
Ally
Full ;)~ just kidding
I just LOVE Hope G.....I think that is just BEAUTIFUL!!! Congrats, and good luck....Let us know what you decide....
Hope Renee seems to be nice too...
What is your middle name? Maybe that will be good? Or your Mom, Grandma, hubby's Mom, Grandma...
All the best!
I think G. would be a nice middle name. :) Maybe think about using one of the grandma's names as a middle? Our daughters have both of their Grandma's first names as their middles names ..Mary & Patricia. I think Hope Ann/Anne sounds nice.
I think one syllable names sound best with a 2 syllable middle name & vise versa. You could use a form of your name which is Gracelyn. I think Hope Gracelyn sounds better than Hope G..
I have always loved the name Hope - and it is very appropriate with your first name as well. It was one of the names I had originally liked for our daughter and I was thinking of using a family name with it (something using the first syllable of a grandfather's name).
I don't have any particular suggestions for a middle name, however depending on the length of your last name, you may want to consider a middle name with at least 2 syllables. However, my mother's name is Faith Hope and that has always sounded great together in my opinion (she was named that for one of her brother's who had passed away a week before she was born and another brother who was fighting WW2 at the same time). Consider choosing something that holds significance for you.
Good luck with your new baby!
Melody.
I always thought about how it would sound when I was yelling at my kids and which names would fit.
I also thought about their high school graduations and how it would sound when their names were announced.
My daughter is Angel Heather.
So, you can always put a "typical" first name as a middle name too.
I'm sure you'll find the perfect name.
First of all, congrats!! How about Hope Johanna?
Hope Madison
Hope Catherine
Hope Avery
Hope N.
Hope Diane
Hope Evelyn
Hope Leigh
My first thought was HOpe G., and then I saw that G. is your name. I still think this combo sounds the best. Fathers have their sons named after them all the time. I think having your name shared with your daughter would be truly beautiful.
Congrats and good luck!
Look at your family names and see if anything catches your attention. My daughters are Margaret Marie (my two grandmothers' middle names) and Elizabeth Mary (after my husband's grandmothers). I think Hope is beautiful though. Now that my one daughter (Margaret) is older, she thinks it is neat that she was named after someone. Good luck.
Hope Ann
Hope Marie
I prefer Hope as a middle name personally. When we were picking names for our girls, we chose first names that were formal and then could be shortened as nicknames. My name doesn't have a natural nickname and I wish it did. Their middle names have family significance and their first names are uniquely theirs. Find something that has some sort of meaning to you and go with that. The social security website has a great list of common names that you can avoid if you want to.
Hope Louise
Hope Francis
Hope Allison
Hope Michelle
Lillian Hope
we can all give suggestions, but you should find a name that is meaningful to you. what is your middle name? are there any family members who you respect whose name you could use? if you want something religious, find a bible character who means something to you.
i'm sure whatever you name her (or him) will be perfect.
Hope Faith (I actually knew a Faith Hope)
Hope Angle or Angelic
Hope Alexandria
Hope Melonie
Hope Marianna
Hope Kiana (Kiana is a favorite name of mine... it means ancient)
Hope Cassandra
Hope Elaina
Hope Persaphanie
Hope Emily
hard to do when we don't know the last name :)
Hope Anne
Hope Mary
I liked the one post of Hope G.
My friends daughters name is Hope Renee. :)
I really like Hope Cameron. Also my friend just used the spelling Camryn for her baby's first name, which is different and kind of fun.
Congratulations. I love the name Hope. How does Riley sound to you?
Hope Riley
Hope Marie G. or Hope G. Marie
faith hope
hope love
these 2 come from the bible faith, hope and love.
hope chyenne
angel hope
hope angelina (hope angel) but a longer version that sounds better than hope angel. that means she is a hopeful angel or an angel of hope.
your name is G. why not hope G.? or hope gracie?
don't go leslie cause leslie could go less so you would have hope less. you know how kids are with nicknames like that.
I had the name chance picked out for my miscarriage. wierd how he did become a chance that didn't happen. go with what sounds right to you. the names tend to match the personality.
Your maiden name as her middle name. Hope is a great name.
