Welcome to peri menopause.
Things gradually become less predictable as they wind down and eventually stop.
Mine lasted something like 10 years - but I was thrilled when my period finally quit for good.
A doctor appt won't hurt.
I will be turning 50 in a few days, and it seems like out of NOWHERE my clothing has gotten tighter, I have put on 5lbs, and my boobs are extremely heavy?? I also have not gotten my period for the very first time. Nope, not pregnant.....so what gives? I have a feeling it's Menopause / Hormonal Imbalance. I have an appt. with my Dr. to check my levels. Just wanted to know if any of you Ladies here in the 50+ zone experienced this?

It happened to me this past year (I'm nearly 50).
I have joined an exercise group. I've dropped the few pounds and firmed up. I think at a certain age, you have to if you want to stay where you were.
My friends regularly miss their periods, and yet get sings of PMS (could account for your heaviness).
Seeing the doctor can't hurt. Good to rule things out.
I have struggled with my weight since turning about 43. I do bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, but it isn't a miracle cure for my weight issues - it is for some other things like sex drive and fatigue, but not for the weight.
I'd have them check your hormone levels, your thyroid, and for diabetes - all things that tend to go wonky as you get older and cause issues relating to weight, etc. For me, it was the hormones that were out of wack but I also have to work twice as hard and eat 1/2 as much just to maintain on my weight. Losing weight is a whole other battle! I have spent all summer just to lose a few pounds for my daughter's upcoming wedding . . . it's tough for sure!
Good luck!
You need to see the Dr. and get your blood checked.
I have not been through this because I had a hysterectomy at 40, had instant menapause and never experienced the horror stories I have heard from women going through menopause.
One of my best friends is going through what you describe and she started some hormone therapy which is helping. Her Dr. did a big blood workup checking everything.
Good luck.
