Sleepy Hollow near South Haven, MI. Price includes activities for kids ages 4+. Right on the beach w/ pool, too.
Hello- Looking for suggestions to Michigan area that has a beach , kidfriendly , resort.
We would prefer to drive the max of 2 hours or 2 1/2 . What areas do you reccomend and any resorts/hotels as well.
We have only been to Mackinac which is too far for a short 3 day stay.
Thanks

South Haven or Grand Haven.... GH is a little farther north than SH
my favorite is north beach in south haven, but we grew up camping at holland park and going to the beach.
we look at vrbo.com and rented a house for a couple of summers. Sawyer, new Buffalo, Lakeside, Coloma are nice and a quick drive. Also check out Beachwalk resort in Michigan city IN.
St joseph area. We rented a house in a nearby area. St joes is great, short drive , tons for kids.
Warren Dunes is my recommendation. It's and easy drive and has so much to offer, especially sand. It's a huge beach with lots of room for everyone. Because it's a state park, you have other options, too. Remember the sandals, though, because the sand can get so, so hot!

I second South Haven, also Holland. For accommodations look into VRBO.
As a Michigander nothing beats being UpNorth though I recommend checking out the Harbor County area-- New Buffalo is very cute, nice beach, a lot of restaurants to choose from, great ice cream at Oinks, antique shops, completely kid friendly, and Warren Dunes is near by. The beach & sand dunes at Warren Dunes are fantastic. Sand boards, sand sleds, water boards & surf boards can be rented through Third Coast Surf Shop in New Buffalo too.
Have fun!
Check out the Pure Michigan Website for more ideas too!
St Joseph is a nice area.
If you drive a little further up to Muskegon, you could go to Michigan Adventure for a day too. They have a GREAT waterpark!!!!
