Where Does Your Family Go on Vacation?

Driving trips...not sure where you live but....always loved Door County, WI...beaches, woods, little towns to shop w/ cute shops. Also Saugatuck/Douglas/South Haven MI - one of my favorite areas. Beaches, shopping, forest preserves and sand dunes, good eating. Lots of B & B's or vacation homes to rent. Many Spring and Summer events. Weekends can get quite crowded in summer. Galena, IL is very cute. Some places to swim, good shopping, fun events and history.

If you really want to drive - Florida - but not too late in the Summer or you'll be baking in the sun on those lovely beaches. Destin has lovely, white sand beaches. Enjoy.

There are a ton of places to go in MI. We rented a house this year near Pentwater. A few years ago we stayed in Cheboygen( looonnnggg drive though) near Mackinac Island. Closer there is South Haven, Grand Haven, Saugatuck. There are alot of for rent by owner websites that you can search for houses on.

Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana have great beaches. Most of the towns along Lake Michigan in IN and MI also are only 1.5-3 hours away from the Chicago area. Most of the areas have rental homes and condos besides hotels. Our favorite areas in MI are South Haven, Saugatuck/Douglas and Holland.
