Have you eaten any nuts lately? Especially pine nuts. They can leave a metallic taste in one's mouth sometimes.
in my experience... possible acid reflux or heartburn ... or even an ulcer ... just check it out with your doc.
metal taste? Hmmmm - pregnancy?
If not - what meds or supplements are you taking? If you aren't taking any - then I would call your Dr and ask the advice nurse what is going on....maybe you are anemic?
If you haven't had your dental check up - you should - and check for gum disease.
Good luck!! Hope it's something fun like YOU'RE PREGNANT!!
Are you pregnant? Are you on any vitamins?Any of the 2 can often cause unusual taste,or maybe your not brushing effectively it could be something you have been eating,if it continues I would make an appt.with your primary care physician it could be soemthing that is a symptom of something else
ALl answers are good ones, but blood usually leaves a metallic taste too - any ulcers or mouth cuts?
I had this when I was pregnant. It was extremely annoying and nothing helped it go away! drove me crazy! that is the only time in my life I have experienced it!
are you taking any medications.. like metformine the diabetic meds.. they can leave a metal taste in your mouth.
I LOVE pesto and I use it to make pizza, as well as a pasta topping and as a veg dip, but I find that if I eat it too frequently I get a metallic taste in my mouth from the pine nuts!
Hi M.
As below it was one of my first symptoms of pregnancy.!
B. k
That was one of my first indications that I was pregnant with #2
My first thought was actually if you have a sore in your mouth that may be a little raw? Or if you still have your wisdom teeth causing you some issues?
For myself... that means I'm having panic attacks... the taste of adrenaline in the back of my throat is very definitely metallic.
However, so is strep, blood, and a few other physiological things.
I'm not sure what is causing it, but when i have taken meds that left that taste in my mouth the doctor told me the easiest (and most delicious) way to get rid of it is to eat a piece of chocolate. I don't know why it worked, but it did. Anyway, it's a great excuse to pop a Hershey's Kiss!
do you have any old silver fillings? im a dental assistant. it could b the metals leaking out which is more common than you would think. see amalgam,(silver fillings) are prone to leaking out after a long time. i owuld visit your dentist, it will need to get replaced by a composite(tooth colored fillings, which are much stronger)
as with some of the others- that was my indication to break out the pregnancy test....
