I tried the job aspect of it and I had to buy the products too. I did LOVE them. Every single product I tried I absolutely loved and so did all my family. They are expensive though and as soon as I'm able to afford to buy again, I will. I particularly loved the Renew lotion, laundry detergant and shampoo.

My thoughts about the company are the same as Mzkitty, the monthly requirement is too much, because the products last soooo long

I do LOVE LOVE LOVE their products. The cleaning products work better than any other product I have used and they last forever. Thank goodness my MIL just became a member so I really stocked up and the products are very inexpensive.

hate the way you are REQUIRED to purchase a certain amount each month. They claim they are *safe* products but some research has come back with not positive reviews.

My mom signed up for it and wasn't able to use enough to keep up with the auto ship. Even tho she kept trying to order different things, it was just way too much. And it was COSTING her more than just buying on sale what she needed, as she needed it, from the store.

I also know a woman who ACTIVELY has been selling it for 8 years and she confessed to me that she was so excited for her "big" monthly check she just got...it was $1200. REALLY? It was the biggest check she got from them and after working full time for EIGHT years. No thanks. Good luck!!!

I was a Melaleuca customer for 5 years and I have so many horror stories about the products and company that I could write a book! My home is now Melaleuca free and I am very happy about that!

Their cleaning products are definitely sub par and are only "natural" compared to the most toxic mainstream cleaning products. I have found many other cleaning products, soaps, beauty products, etc. that far outshine Melaleuca's offerings.

The only product that I like is the wrinkle release spray, but I can't use it because the smell gives me migraines.

I HATE their products. I know people swear by them, and really love them. Personally, I was really disappointed. I also don't prefer to purchase from pyramid companies.

It's a basic multi-level marketing scam. The products are no better or worse than other organic-type ones you can buy at a store if you do your research and try things (without all the rules about minimums and whatnot). I had a friend who was involved in it and it consumed her life -- so much so that she lost friends and alienated her relatives because it was a constant push to sell the stuff to us. Thankfully she's out of it now.

I don't buy from pyramid schemes. If the product is that good then imagine how well it would do on the open market. Nothing but a scam (i.e, minimum monthly purchase) and I simply don't participate in those types of companies - no matter how good the products are!

Even though I am not a fan of this company, it is NOT a pyramid scheme. Those are illegal and it would have been shut down years ago if that were true. MLMs are legit -- the business model has been taught at Harvard for heaven's sake! It eliminates the middle man and allows someone to have a home business and earn a living. But if someone wants to pay a higher mark up for inferior products at the store, knock yourself out!
That being said, there are better products available without having the requirement to purchase something every month.

I had to sit through the spiel from an old friend who wanted me to rep and thus build her business. They have good products, but the whole thing about having to "switch your stores" from where you normally shop to "their one stop shopping with Melaleuca" really turned me off. I also intensely disliked the requirement of having to spend a certain amount of money every month in order to remain active as either a customer or a representative.

If you were to be a representative building your business, the only way for it to be lucrative is to constantly be building new customers AND having new representatives under you on your team. You can't ease up at all... ever. And for what you do sell and the reps under you sell, you don't get that much money. It's also a very, very confusing payment structure as a representative. The only thing that isn't confusing is how much you pay as a customer.

My friends that do it currently very easily spend their entire Melaleuca paychecks on products. Some of those products they use for their own families, but a lot go toward showing potential customers and reps as "samples."

Oh, and you have to pay a membership fee yearly.

I decided not to do it, as you can -probably tell. When I get back to work, if I go with anyone for vitamin supplements and other health products I'll likely go with Qivana. My husband's youngest sister is a Q rep and she loves it... and is making a ton of money doing it.

I was happy with the products, but not with the monthly required spending limit. Some of the reps will try to tell you it's not required and create some BS way to say it, but you HAVE to order X amount per month. If your family is big enough and you use enough products, it may be worth it, but if not, it's just an extra expense.

The products are great but there was NO WAY I could maintain buying the monthly minimum because I just didn't use enough of the product so I dropped it. I would buy their products if there was no monthly minimum.

I did this for a few months. It got to be expensive and I really didn't get anyone to join the team. Once ppl heard that they had to buy too they weren't interested. I was spending more then I was making. So I ended up getting out. It is a lot of hard work, which was ok with me. I tried my best and it just didn't work out. Like one other said, to meet the points I was buying stuff that I didn't need. I had tons of phone calls interested but when they sat through the videos called back and said they weren't interested. That and my mentor was pretty new at it too so any questions that I had weren't getting answered very well. If you are looking to get in on it make sure that the person has been doing it for a while so that they can help you. My first month I got a $7 check and my second month was a whole wopping $2 and we bought the same amount. After that I was finished. How can it go down that much when we bought the same amount? I was having to buy atleast $60 worth of prodeuct a month, so how was I making any money?
My daughter really liked the toothpaste and I liked the hair products, but other then that really didn't care for anything else. The bar soap made me itch and the vitamins really didn't work for me or my husband. My mom took the vitamins and she said they didn't work for her either. She actually felt more tired then before. Some ppl really like their products but I didn't care for them. Best of Luck!

Sure, I've heard of it. The products are decent if you are buying them from someone. If you are considering signing up to become a product rep... bleh. Not worth it at all.

If they sold the products in stores I would buy them. I know they work very well and I loved each product I tried.

My sister started selling it but she was having to buy so much for herself if she wasn't able to get enough people to order. She tried for several months but could not meet the minimum.

I used to order from them but the monthly $75 fee's got to be way too much. They make you have a minimum point order every month and I was buying things I didn't even need. I have ended my membership with them a year and a half ago and I STILL have products that I use daily. That's how much stuff I have over ordered.

Yes. I am a Melaleuca customer/distributor and love the products and the concept of shopping on-line. Also many products are organic and low in chemicals which helps with children (and adults) with allergies.

Never consider signing up to represent a company that requires monthly purchases from you AND your customers. It sets you up for failure. I'm a Pampered Chef consultant and I'm approached by people trying to recruit me to sell Melaleuca products all the time - more than any other company (with Mary Kay being 2nd). That tells me that reps are required to recruit in order to make $$. Of course I'll make more $$ if I actively recruit people to work for Pampered Chef, however, if I don't do that, I still make very good $$ with each show I do. I'm not REQUIRED to recruit anyone, ever.

Run, don't walk!

Great products, but they require a minimum amount spent each month...and it got a bit expensive buying stuff I felt like I didn't really *need* just to satisfy the requirement. But I DO like their products. Love their cleaning supplies and actually love the Nicole Miller makeup, too.

I like a lot of their cleaners.... I was buying them for a while, but found it difficult to buy enough to meet the monthly minimum to get the "discount". (What can I say? I don't clean the house often enough, I know...)

I still have a bunch of the cleaners in my cupboards, though.. I like the way they are concentrated, for example, and you keep using the same spray bottle... not so much waste as some of the ones you usually buy at the store.

My daughter found that the Prespot (stain spray) took out blood, also....
