I work at a hospital and know for a fact that hospitals don't provide one and won't let you leave till you have one. If I had one, Id give you one. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone reading your post will give you one. : )
I'm supposed to deliver in mckinney & I don't have a car seat yet. Do they provide one? If not, what hospitals close by do?

I don't believe hospitals provide one. I know near me, local fire-stations do. Call the McKinney fire station (Information line, not emergency!) and they might be able to provide one. IF you can't afford it. If it's a matter of just not having bought one yet, they won't give you one without financial need. You need to have a car seat before you deliver.
Not sure if this is true anymore but the hospitals used to provide them if you are on Medicaid. . My grandson was born at Presby in Dallas and they gave my daughter one.

As other readers have said, hospitals won't provide you a car seat and you have to have one before you can leave the hospital with your baby. You might look at consignment shops (like Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child) as they may have a gently used car seat for a good price.
I have one that we used for my son. It should still be fine - it is only about 2.5 years old and it has never been in an accident.
If you are interested and still need one, email me at ____@____.com
Try getting one on craigslist if that is what you can afford. MAke sure to ask if it haS EVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
