A Pea in the Pod and Japanese Weekend have some lovely dresses. Not sure if what I am seeing is what you are looking for, but you can always check on-line.
Hi moms!
I have a strange request. Does anyone know where to find a fancy maternity evening gown? In the fall, I have to go to a black tie event. I'm not pregnant yet, but we're trying. With any luck, I'll be a few months along at that point. This will be my second pregnancy and I've heard that you show earlier in your pregnancy if you've already had a child. Are there stores that have dresses on the rack or is it going to have to be a special order like a bridesmaid dress? Any advice or suggestions would be a great help. Thank you!

Hey fellow Tustin resident. My suggestion would be to skip the maternity dresses which are usually overpriced and ugly, and go for a dress with an empire waist instead or something with a stretchy fabric, you're not gonna be showing that much by then. I know they say you show earlier with consecutive pregnancies, but it's really not that much.
I'm a SAHM of an almost 4 year old boy and a 20 month old girl.
All the best, H..
I agree with the Pea in the Pod suggestion. I found a beautiful black lace top with cami for a black tie event. I did wear pants because it was chilly. But check it out. It is in Crystal Court at South Coast Plaza. They are also VERY helpful too. Good luck!

There are a ton of styles nowadays that can accommodate a pregnant belly without having to special order a dress! If you go on Nordstrom.com, select women, then select dress shop, then select by category: evening gown, then select by style: babydoll. There are tons of dresses in every price range! If the material is a jersey knit, it will be pretty stretchy, if you're not into baby dolls.
Have fun at your event and good luck!
For a formal banquet that I went to, I just went to charlotte russe and got a dress with an empire waist. I've gone to weddings and saw women do the same thing.
Hi S.,
Try Motherhood. They are much less expensive than Pea in the Pod. I think they are online also. If not I bet they could point you in the right direction as to getting what you are looking for.
Good Luck.
