Does anyone own the Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker by Beaba? If so, how do you like it?

If not, what food processor do you use to make your own baby food?

What can I do next?

I actually have 3(1 big and 2 smaller) processors/mixers...I made all of my son's baby food and stored them in baby food trays (basically ice cube trays with lids) and they worked great. The big one is a Cuisinart and the smaller are Kitchen Aid and Cook's Essentials. Truth be told, I used the 2 smaller a lot more than the Cuisinart! I only wanted devices that were NOT specific to baby food...(thought that would be a waste of money for me) But I've had great luck w/what I've got so far :-)

The best blender in the world for making baby food is not exactly a blender, it is called an immersion blender. You can find them in most any kitchen supply store and most departments store home departments. It is essentially the blender blade mounted in the end of a wand that can be put right down into a cup/bowl/etc of whatever food you are eating yourself. We had both of our boys eating the same food we ate as soon as they were out of stage 1 baby food. It tasted a whole lot better and we could control the ingredients and nutrition ourselves. Absolutely look for an immersion blender. It will fast become one of your favorite pieces of kitchen equipment. Oh, yea, it's WAY easier to clean than a regular blender or food processor too!

I used a blender and the world's cheapest food processor. You don't need a special baby food processor to make baby food. All you need to do is to cook the fruits and veggies, dont spice or sugar them, blend them up with water or apple juice (if they need to be a bit sweeter). Any fruit that will turn brown in air (apples, peaches, pears need a squirt of lemon or orange juice) then blend away! Don't fall prey to the need to have a special machine just for baby food, it is not needed and it is extra money you can use for other things. Good luck!

We received the Beaba Babycook as a gift, and really don't like it so far. We're still in the experimenting stage, but for example, as we were trying to just puree a simple banana with a little breast milk, we had to keep tipping it because the blades were high enough off the base that the big banana pieces were just laying under them not getting chopped. If you have a food processor or blender already that you like, I think it would be just as easy to use your own equipment--the Beaba doesn't seem to offer any advantages over them. If we had known how much it cost, we would have returned it before opening it.

We use a cuisinart food processor. The only trouble is, the canister is made of that plastic with PBA in it, so we are deciding whether to just keep hobbling along with the Beaba or put it on ebay.

Hi - I just used a fork! It worked for everything except peas. Peas I put in a small food chopper.

I'm with everyone else - just use the blender or food processor that I already own. My blender is a Cuisinart with a food processor attachment as well. I've had it for years, and it still works even though used frequently.

I actually used a regular old food mill that had 3 plates. I mainly used it for fruits and veggies and it worked fine.
