Has anyone downloaded the new OS X Mountain Lion for Mac and are you able to use your Microsoft for Mac? I never downloaded the Snow Leopard because I heard I wouldn't be able to open my Microsoft docs. Because of this, I'm still not on ICloud.

Thanks!

I always upgrade to each one, and I've never had issues with opening Microsoft docs. I currently have Lion, and have no issues.

I'm on OS X 10.7.4 (Lion) and have had no trouble at all with any of my Microsoft applications. I'm even running Parallels and Windows 7 on my Mac with no trouble, and Excel, Word, and PowerPoint work great on either Windows 7/Parallels or OS X. I haven't upgraded to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) yet, but will at some point soon. Usually I wait a few weeks before upgrading my operating system, to give them time to fix any bugs that pop up.

Upgrading to at least Lion is a must-do in my opinion; iCloud is way worth it, especially for e-mail.

As an aside, something I didn't realize about iCloud until I spoke with a Mac Genius at the Apple store is that it only syncs new data (photos, music, etc) between your mobile devices and your computer. If you have a ton of pictures on your computer, it doesn't back those up to the cloud. So it's still imperative that you have an external hard drive, and back up to that routinely, even after you're on iCloud. :)

I haven't. But I'm lazy and cheap like that, lol. We pretty much only use our Mac for "fun" stuff. No work related things at all. So we really don't have much need for the latest updates or OS.... It might be "nice", but not necessary, and so it's $$ I don't need to spend.

Sorry I am not more help.

I haven't downloaded Mountain Lion, but I do have Snow Leopard. I haven't had any problems with using it and my Microsoft products.
