Go to the doctor if you haven't already. My bad pain resulted in appendicitis and I had to have surgery that day. Here's the thing about appendicitis (if you haven't already gone to the doctor).... if you get it before the appendix ruptures, it's a laproscopic surgery , which was a pain to recover from, but so much better than the appendix rupturing, going septic, and having a more invasive surgery and possibly sepsis, which is deadly. Those are the people who end up being in the hospital for a week or more. Mine was an overnight surgery and I went home the next day.

You ask about labor and delivery. Yes, if you are pregnant, don't wait to get this checked out!

This is the sort of thing that should prompt you to call your doctor's answering service to leave a message and have your doctor call you back to discuss. If you don't have a doctor, go to a walk in clinic for an exam. I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if you should go to "l&d" - all I can think of is "Labor & Delivery" and that doesn't make sense. If the pain is extreme, you could go to the ER but it doesn't sound like it is quite there (yet) - you say it's "bad" though. Appendicitis is obviously an urgent matter, as is an ectopic pregnancy - but a pulled muscle isn't or a bladder infection isn't. But this could be any of a dozen things, so we simply cannot make a suggestion based the limited description you have given, and we aren't doctors anyway.

Could be appendicitis.

Appendicitis comes to mind.
You might need to get to an emergency room soon.

Welcome to mamapedia!

IF you are having "BAD" pains - why are you NOT going to the doctor and calling your doctor??

It could be something as simple as gas...it could be appendicitis, you could have a kidney infection - it could many MANY THINGS!! GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!

It could be anything from constipation (that can cause pressure when you pee and also pains from spasms), urinary tract infection, a cramp, but appendicitis comes to mind. If I'm in pain that doesn't go away, or is so bad I can't function, or doesn't go away with tylenol or ibuprofen, then I go in.

If you mean Labor and Delivery - call right away and talk to someone and ask what you should do.

Good luck

should you go to l and d? this is a good question for your ob. i would start there. they know your history (i am assuming you are pregnant since you asked if you should go to l and d)
call your ob and find out. if i am wrong and you are not pregnant then a call to your general dr is in order.

It could be one of many things as others have posted to include a ruptured ovary. Going to the doctor is the only way to know what exactly is going on with your body. So please call and go. If something has ruptured internally many things can happen and will and some are very unpleasant.

I don't know what your initials mean because there isn't any spacing. Is that Labor and Delivery? Or something else?

If you're having pain then your doc needs to know. Many things can give you a sense of pain and not all of them are bad and some are not good.
