This happend to my daughter once. We had her bite into an apple and the tooth came out. Just thought I ofer that suggetion.
My daughter is almost 6, and her first front tooth (bottom) is loose. Well it's soo loose that I keep expecting it to come out; yet it isn't falling out yet! It's so loose that if you push it back, you can see the bottom of it. Also, it's sort of...ripping her bottom gum. Well, not only is it NOT falling out, my daughter says now it hurts when it moves around. I don't know how long to wait or if I should take her to the dentist now. It's been loose for weeks, and it's been SUPER loose for about 3 or 4 days, but didn't start causing her pain until yesterday. What should I do?
NOTE: My daughter WANTS me to pull the tooth out. She isn't stopping me from doing it. I have tried pulling it out with my fingers and it won't come out, even thought it can move all around.
Last night I took her to a friend's house and together we pulled out the tooth! My daugther was ready for it to come out, she only cried when her mouth filled up with blood and she saw the blood soaked towels. But it's out now! Thanks for all of your help. I used the orajel and the floss, both before I read this! Lol. Thanks everyone.

Even when they are that loose, they are hard to grasp as they are slippery try using a kleenex or paper towel to grip it with. Then give it a quick good yank. Granny
Call your dentisr and ask them would be the safest. However I have always figured that if it is ready to come out then it does no harm to free the way for the next tooth.

Try the old tie a piece of tooth floss around the tooth and give it one quick pull. Have a friend/family member do it if you can't bring yourself to do it. Works every time.

If you place a kleenex over it and twist, that will give it the necessary friction to come out. If it's as loose as you say and it doesn't come out with a kleenex, I'd probably take her to a dentist to do it.
This happened with my daughter's 2 bottom teeth recently, too, and the kleenex bit worked wonders. The worst part of it, for her, was the taste of blood. We made sure we had a mint nearby (huge treat for her) and she had that and was all better.
Good luck -

I have 5 children that my hubby has been pulling teeth for and all he does is wet a paper towel and pull it out with that then they use the paper towel to bite on for a few minutes. None of the kids have ever cried and most of the time they don't even feel it. My oldest (10) has been pulling her own teeth since she was 7. The others (8, 8, 6) still have daddy do it and my 5 year old has not lost any yet but wants to because she sees how excited the other kids are when they get a loose tooth.

yes, definitely pull it out...if your having problems doing so, just contact her dentist - I am sure they will be happy to do it for you.
Hello,
We feel your pain. The dentist will call it a tooth extraction. (That is what ours told us) I recommend using dental floss below the tooth. It sounds like it is hanging by a thread so to speak. This should do it.

Whenever my daughter had a loose tooth, one of my closest friends would ask if she could see it. Then she would just yank it right out. I think the reason we can't do it ourselves is because we think it will hurt....the element of surprise seems to do the trick!
Use a kleenex instead of bare fingers or better yet give her a tootsie roll or something sticky! That was always interesting.
Hello A.,
When my son was that age he wanted to pull his own teeth out..LOL..My suggestion is simply, like my Dad used to do, either let her do it herself, or take a small washcloth, not just your fingers, and use that as a gripper for the tooth, if you will, then put it over the tooth, and wiggle it or twist it just a smidge so's not to hurt her anymore than need be...and because it is so ready to come out, it might just come out in the towel! It sometimes can take up to a month to come out, even when loose hon. Unless you think it neccessary, there is no need for dentist, the tooth will just need a little help to come out, it's normal what your daughter is feeling. So, no worries mate, chin up, that tooth will be under her pillow in no time, waiting for the Tooth Fairy to come and bring it to the magical place...Peace and many blessings, Shell
My 5-year old had a similar situation a few months ago. I knew it would hurt a LOT worse if he snagged it on something, bit into something the wrong way, etc. So I asked him if I could take a look at the tooth. Took a piece of Kleenex and just popped it right out. He asked if I was going to pull his tooth and started crying. I said, babe, it's already out. Showed it to him and watched the smile come. For whatever reason, the Kleenex always did the trick for me as a kid too. Grip, etc. I guess. Anyway, it bled for a minute and the Tooth Fairy visited that night. Very easy.
Good luck.
My daughter complained about the same thing. I think the idea is what hurts the most. My daughter kind of freaked out and wouldn't let me near it. I finally talked her into letting me use a paper towel to see how lose it was. I pulled and it came right out. THe paper towel or kleenex definately makes it much easier to grip. After that she brought me paper towels to check and to go ahead and pull if it was lose enough. My son pulled his own out.
ice her gums and pull it out. Now if that bothers you then take her to the dentist and have them pull it out but you will be charged a co-pay. For the pain it is probaly a air bubble since it is so loose. once it is out the pain will go away.
My son's first tooth just came out on Saturday. It had been so loose for a long time that you could see that it was loose just by looking at him. He was terrified that this was happening to him. He didn't want it to hurt ans he really didn't want to bleed. So, Saturday he fell asleep (he is a thumb sucker) on a car ride and when he woke up the tooth was hanging... I grabbed a tissue and with a little bit of a pull I got it out. He was pleasently surprised that it didn't hurt as much as he thought.
Don't be afriad to pull alittle bit harder, it will only hurt for a second. Just have a tissue ready for her to bit on.
Hope you get the tooth out soon.
Blessings,

Same thing happened with my daughter (also 5 going on 16) 2 weeks ago. It was actually both of her bottom teeth that were loose. She pulled the first one herself. The second one was loose exactly like your daughter's. She was complaining of pain and she couldnt eat. I took a papertowel between my fingers so that I could get a better grip on the tooth reached in and out it came. (this all happened in one day) Have an extra towel ready for the blood.
Good Luck!!

Mother of a vibrant 5 year old girl,a typical 14 yr old boy and another one on the way.
I have found that a little twist along with the pulling motion can usually get it out when they are that loose. Just rocking it back and forth doesn't always work. A dry tooth with rubber gloves may do the trick too... so you don't lose your grip.
Hi! My daughter (6 as of last week) has lost 4 teeth already and has 4 more loose teeth. From what you are describing I would call her dentist. Better safe than sorry. Most loose teeth should not hurt unless there is pressure placed on them and that is rare. My husband pulled all of my daughters and with most of them she did not even realize that he pulled them. Do you have a dentist yet? If you are in the mid-pinellas area I can recommend someone for you. ____@____.com
Good luck!

ps understand the 6 going on 16!!!
try some ambesol when it hurts and tylenol or motrin to avoid a dental bill. but if it doesnt come out after a few more days, you can take her to the dentist. but i bet it will come out soon! good luck! many more to go!
Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! I am a retired dental hygienist. If the tooth is that loose, what the dentist would do is grip the tooth with a sterile gauze square and give it a quick pull. It might feel like a small pinch, and she probably will have some bleeding, as it sounds like it's still attached by a tiny bit of gingiva (you can see how much is attached). It always looks worse bleeding because it mixes with saliva! She can bite down on a clean washcloth with ice in it and the bleeding will stop in a couple minutes. If you're comfortable doing that yourself, it will save you a dental visit! Otherwise, give them a call! Good luck & enjoy your daughter!
My daughter had the same thing happen. I take a washcloth and wet it with cold water and pull the tooth. The cold water helps it not to hurt as much with pulling it. We have done this with the last 3 teeth she has needed me to do this with and she now prefers me to do this. But, her first tooth she would not let me touch. We went to Chili's for dinner and I know her tooth was ready (sounds like your daughter's) and I had her order corn on the cob and sure enough when she bit into the corn her tooth was in the cob (which is what I planned all along). Hope this helps.
Hi A.,
I use Baby Orajel on my kids sometimes - even the older ones when they have a pain like that and it works great.
good luck,
