If shes going to the dentist in a week, I would just wait and see what they say. I def wouldnt try pulling any back teeth. Maybe the annoying wigglers in the front, but Id be scared to mess with the back.
Ok, OMG!!!
The last time my daughter was in the dentist was 2 years ago, we were tight on money but she needed it, the dentist point out that one tooth wasn't falling yet and ask my daughter to play with it.
She has another appointment in 1 week, just a check up. We didn't went last year because we were just recuperating for a bad money time.
I was checking my daughters mouth to check for cavities to give me an idea on how much would be the damage ($$$) for that year we miss.
So in the back of her mouth I see this baby tooth next to her permanent tooth, is one of the back ones and the permanent tooth is almost complete out (I think) and the baby tooth just next to it.
How on earth that tooth is still there? Of course I told her I can't believe she didn't told me this but of course she didn't wanted me to know and have it pull, I was like; "Why, do you grow a special connection with it?. lol" still kind of mad she didn't told me, come on!
My 2 kids were late toothers (sp?) the little one had her fist at 1 year old, but no falling teeth?
Oh yeah, this is not the first time, her front tooth was like that too, difference is that I could see it and I kept reminding her to play with it until fall but I never saw this one.
Now I am thinking, should we just pull it out, I got good ideas on how in America Funniest Video...ok, just joking about that, lol...well maybe no, some of those were very funny.
I mean, we are in a much better situation now and we can afford easy the dentist (not insuress), but I wonder if it is needed to pay or is ok to pull.
I remember my mom pulling many of my falling teeth and I don't remember any of them hurting, I think it hurt more when I wiggle them that when she actually pull them.
So. please give your opinion, I have never pull a tooth, I actually think I can't and dad would have to, but have you?
She is 13 and the new tooth is out already just that the old one still there too, maybe is stock?.

I would take her to the dentist, not just because of that baby tooth, but because it's been 2 years since her last check-up. I understand money being tight and that you've tried to visually check her teeth, but you really need xrays to see cavities and decay. If you can see it with your bare eyes, the tooth is in major trouble. Please, since you can now afford it, take her to the dentist before she develops serious problems with her adult teeth that may plague her for life.
all of my kids teeth that have come out they have pulled them or they have fallen out by themselves.
You don't say how old your child is, the big tooth could be a molar and they don't have baby teeth to push out.
Generally the front teeth fall out first. So if she hasn't had the rest of them fall the ones to the back likely aren't ready yet.
DO NOT PULL it, if it's not loose it's not ready to come out.
Children need to go to the dentist every 6 months. At the next check up ask the dentist about the tooth.

please check these links for when teeth are supposed to come out.
The second one has a picture so you can see which tooth it is and see what age it comes out. And keep in mind also if you have a boy you can expect him to loose his teeth later than a girl.
Those dangling-by-a-thread baby teeth give me the heebie-jeebies!
My hubby pulls them out, and, on occasion, my son has done it himself.
It it's hanging there--get dad to pop it out. It doesn't hurt at all at that point--just connected by a thread of tissue.
IF it's still there tightly in place--I'd get the dentist to evaluate it.
If it's really loose encourage her to wiggle it so it comes out. If it's loose, but not really loose, you might want to reschedule your dentist appointment because since the other tooth is already in they might want to pull it - which costs $$. We had this issue with my son. We had a loose tooth, but not really loose. Dentist told us to wiggle it, but since the other tooth was coming in behind if it wasn't out by his next appointment (2 weeks to have a cavity filled) then they would pull it to make room for the new tooth.
when i was little i would pull mine out myself. I think my mom helped on a few if i couldnt get it. It did not hurt either. I would not pay the dentist to pull a lose tooth if you can pull it. If it seems a little hard let it stay and a few days later with her eating and everything it will get more lose and then it will be easier to pull.
I have pulled plenty of teeth. My DD is only 10 months, but I have cousins and a niece with squeamish parents. lol. It's not really all that hard. Just use a paper towel, grap a hold, and pull with a little bit of a twist. But ONLY if it's ready.. only hanging on by a couple threads. I remember my dad used to find 'fun' ways to pull our teeth... football & string, string tied to the boom of his boom truck, etc. My favorite is the time he used vice-grips to pull my tooth! lol. (except the tooth fell down into the adjuster thingie and got ground up a bit trying to get it out... lol.)
He also told us that if we didn't stick our tongue in the hole, our tooth would grow in gold. But who can resist sticking their tongue in the hole?!?! lol.
When I was young that is how most of my big teeth came in - with the baby tooth still in front. My mom said I looked like a shark! Eventually the baby teeth came loose and fell out. I did not need anything pulled. I think this is fairly common.
Make sure to always go to the dentist 2ce a year for checkups and cleanings. Prevention is better than paying for cavities to be filled. Much less expensive in the long run!
You do NOT need to pull these teeth. They will most likely come out on their own like they did for me. Just encourage your child to wiggle her teeth when they are loose. Wiggle wiggle wiggle every day!
Please don't touch it , just wait for the dentist to give his opinion. You don't even mention that it's loose! Do not traumatize the area by forcing something that may not be ready (doesn't sound like there is any indication that it is ready).
Dentists are trained to deal with teeth and their care. Your child is due (overdue) to be seen by one. Please get his professional opinion.
