Okay so I am looking into being a stay at home mom and watching other children in my home but I have one small problem I live in an apartment, would any of you be comfortable with that? As a mom I dont know if I would or not so I just wanted a couple opinions because I am currently wokring and my baby sitter told me today that she is going back to work I have checked into other places and it is just so expensive I would love to stay at home with my boys I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 5 month old. What do you think?

What can I do next?

I would be ok with it as long as it was on the ground floor and if it wouldn't be an all day arrangement becasue I think the little ones need immediate access to safe outdoor play.

All the best, Liz

If you want honesty, no. I would not leave my children in an apartment day care. Nothing against living in an apartment, I'm sure all of us have lived in one at one time or another. But, kids need room to roam, and if you are planning on having several kids, your space gets real small real fast! Just my opinion....others may have a different one. Good luck to you, whatever happens!

Honestly, I wouldn't, either. My daughter is in a center, and they either go outside or to an indoor playground at least twice a day. I know I get bored in the same room all day long - I've got to think kids do, too! And even if you have access to a playground at your apartment, it likely isn't fenced, so that would make me really nervous. And remember your apartment would need to be very carefully childproofed in every way!

It depends on the apartment... some are nicer than many homes I have been in!

If you do end up doing at home daycare, check out this site, it has a lot of helpful info and forms to print out for you (like contracts, menu planning, activity sheets...)
