My daughter quilts. She taught herself. She's made some beautiful quilts and has taught her sister to quilt, too. "While I�m too busy to take this on right now, you can tell her that I said quilting is very easy to learn even if she only has basic sewing skills. There are lots of places on the internet that give good instructions on how to quilt. There are a couple of important questions that she needs to consider if she wants to do it herself, though:
What type of material are the baby clothes made of? Is it woven material (like a man�s dress shirt), or is it knit material (soft and stretchy like a t-shirt)? This is very important, because you have to handle stretchy fabrics differently.
Does she want to sew pieces together on a sewing machine, or cut the material into shapes and hand-sew them in place (like patches) on top of other material? This is the difference between machine-piecing and appliqu�.
