I am starting to research preschools for my 3-year-old, but would like some recommendations from other moms. I would like to find a place that is only a few days a week for a few hours each time. Just want to start her off slowly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

We live in Carmel, but we send our daughter to Christ United Methodist Preschool in Westfield. I love it and the price is great. She is in the 3 yr old class now and it is Tues/Thurs afternoons from 12:30-2:45. They have other time options too. The teachers are great and she is actually learning great things. Much more thatn I had originally thought she would. I would check it out. Their number is ###-###-####, and the directors name is Brab Sampson. Open registration is March 6. Good Luck!

If Learning Time Preschool has a location near there (I go to West Campus, Indianapolis near Zionsville) it's awesome.

Our son has been going to St Peters in Carmel (corner of Carmel Dr and Keystone) for a few years now. He's signed up for the pre-k class next year and our 2 year old will also be attending. The moms day out program starts at 18 months and the preschool program goes to pre-k. The 3 year old classes are either 2 days a week or 3 days a week. The mornings are 9am-11:20am with an optional 'lunch bunch' (bring a sack lunch) going to 1pm. There is also an afternoon class but I don't know the hours off the top of my head.

Like most preschools, registration was in January. There are a few open spots, but you'll probably be on a waiting list. Your best bet is to check out a few schools and get on several waiting lists... most preschools have waiting lists now for next fall.

Hi K.:

I have had some difficult experiences with Preschools in the area and after many failed attempts, have finally found one that is awesome. Talking Time Kids is in Noblesville but the extra drive is definitely worth it. My son is there half days 12:30-3:30 and the price is very affordable.

They work with speech delayed, autistic and children who are not developmentally delayed as well. My son is not learning disabled but we had issues of disagreement with several preschools in how they teach and how they discipline.

Talking Time Kids is located at 15515 Stony Creek Way and their phone number is ###-###-####. Feel free to tell them T. told you to call. You can also look at their website at http://talkingtimekids.com.

I would recommend Christ United Methodist Church in Westfield. They have an excellent preschool program. I grew up in the church and my youngest brother and niece both attended the preschool. You can go to thier website www.christwestfield.org, then click on the preschool and it will give you the director's name and phone #. It shows they are still taking enrollment. The preschool director and her husband are wonderful people. I ran the nursery at the church for just over a year before I had my son. I believe it is a great environment.
