Hello! I live around the Citrus Park area of Tampa. I am mostly a stay at home mom. My son is 10 months old, and I am looking for somewhere I can take my son to interact with other children. Like any fun classes. Any recommendations? Thank You!

What can I do next?

Hi E.,
I am a certified instructor with Music with Mar. and we have fun, interactive music and movement classes throughout the community for ages 0-6. Classes do not teach music, but use music to teach basic developmental skills (social, motor, language). Prices are per family, not per child! For a schedule and for more info, check out www.musicwithmar.com. I teach in Tampa & Oldsmar. I hope to meet you soon!

Have you looked into library storytimes, rec centers for fitness activities for mom/baby, gymnastics centers for mom/baby tumbling or yoga, Gymboree, MOMS Club, stroller fit, bookstore storytimes, mom/baby playplaces???? If you are nursing there are great support groups of moms for that too where you and baby get to socialize!!

All of these are excellent ways to have your baby get out and spend great time with other moms and kids around the same age as yours. If we didn't participate in many of these a week I might be inane!!! LOL!! Once you get involved in some regular activities with your baby, it's no doubt you will make friends with other moms with other babies and start coordinating your own meet-ups and pkaydates with them. It's great to get yourself and your little one out!!!

You could try the free Baby Time group at the local libraries. Austin Davis Library is not too far from you. If he can sit, you can also go to story time at Barnes and Noble-I think they still do this on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Music with Mar classes are great and are offered all over (www.musicwithmar.com). I think they cost about $6/classor so but are well worth it. If you are a member of the local YMCA, they have free Mommy and Me type classes until your child is 2 years old. I also belong to a moms group, so you could try to do a search for one in your area (www.momsclub.org) to meet stay at home moms like you and participate in play groups. Hope this helps.

Yogani Studios www.yogani.com Kids don't really need to interact at this age, but mommies do :)
