Flintstones. That's what I give the kids. They should be available at Walgreens and other big grocery stores. I give Flintstones because they have more Iron content in them.

We do give a multi-vitamin w/choline, fish oil 2400mg, and Vitamin C 500mg and I have to admit my kids have gone years (not kidding) without missing a day of school for illness. I guess while I think that it is somewhat helpful that I give these (especially the Fish Oil, but that is because it is recommended for kids with certain issues), I count on what I feed them way more than what vitamins they get from the store. I, too, believe they pee most of the stuff out because they likely don't need it. I think that kids who do not have good nutrition, or do not have access to healthy food are the ones that benefit from vitamins. We cook healthy, balanced meals that serve plenty of fruits and vegies, proteins, etc.

So, why do I still give them? Ugh - probably because I have for 30 years and in a few years I won't have anyone left to give them to . . . I definitely wouldn't be spending a bunch of money on them, though. I use store brand USA made vitamins and spend about $15 a month on all three vitamins I give (and I take the fish oil, too, so we go through that faster).

I would think at 9 yrs old, your kiddo is capable of eating a healthy diet. As long as you are able to provide him with the same, I don't think you have a lot to worry about.

Good luck!

We stopped taking any vitamins in pill or gummy form. They don't dissolve well (gummies especially - put one in a small dish of vinegar and you'll see it doesn't even dissolve). Even the chewables don't have enough in them to make much difference. Did you talk to the pediatrician - a lot of them call standard multivitamins "expensive urine" because most of it is eliminated! And we don't use anything for basic nutrition/vitamins that have a "keep out of reach of children" warning labels. We switched to cellular nutrition 9 years ago, and everyone's much healthier, with no colds/flu and much better lab results.

We used to get 'Lil Critters, but we started buying the store brand. Most kids' vitamins are gummies, but I honestly always liked the chewable vitamins growing up. Oh well, my kids like the gummies.

we don't use any... we eat a balanced diet low in processed foods. we organically grow much of our own food and go fishing for our fish.

my kids got flintstones, but studies have since shown that most of it just gets peed out.
i think your pediatrician would be a way better source of advice than the internet for this sort of thing.
