Looking for Help with Bipolar Disorder - and Can You Be Insured Again?

Hi:)

I suspect that my husband may be suffering with "soft" bipolar disorder, where the mania manifests more as irritability and anxiety rather than euphoria. Does anyone know who the absolute best person is to see for help? Do you know what kind of treatments there are? Are the medications horrible? And his main worry is that he won't be able to be insured again. Does anyone have any experience with that? We are in Grapevine, but would be willing to drive for the right help.

Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I'm going through the same thing :) Mild bipolar - with the mania coming through as extreme anger and irritability. I'm there.
I want to recommend my psychologist/therapist. He's really down to earth and easy to talk to - my husband likes him after meeting him once, and he doesn't really believe in all this psychiatric stuff (he doesn't understand it all basically). His name is Jay Ruebel, and he is in Southlake. They work with kids and adults, and has been helping me for the past 4 months. Just recently I went to see Dr. grant to be put on some medication, but we're still working to find the right meds for all my symptoms - anger outbursts and the depression as well.
Good luck - and assure your hubby he's not alone.

Hi, M.!

I would highly recommend Dr. Constantine Kotsanis. He's an MD, but he is also highly specialized in natural remedies. His knowledge is astounding! His # is ###-###-#### and his website is http://www.wellnessandaesthetics.com/1327165.html. I hope this helps!

P.S. The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD is one of the best in the state. I'd HIGHLY recommend it for your little boy. The website is www.hebisd.edu.

Cathal Grant in Bedford is a great doc to see for any mental health issues-he is right next to Harris Methodist on 121. There are some very good meds out now for this type of thing and he oght to be able to get relief pretty quickly.
If your husband is not insured through a group plan, and if he maintains coverage with no greater than a 90 day lapse he cannot be rufused health insurance for any pre-existing condition, including mental health issues.
I have a 23 year old son with a mental illness who has been seeing Dr. Grant for four years and is doing great. He is also insured through our group plan and there has never been any issue.
I live in Keller though I did live in Grapevine-you are welcome to write to me at ____@____.com if you ave questions or need emotional support.

In my opinion when a drug like Cymbalta is left in the hands of a doctor like Cathel P. Grant, patients could be endangered. It is my experience, and therefore my opinion that Dr. Grant ignores reported side affects' symptoms such as the drastically unusual and even violent behavior in a patient on this drug towards their spouse of 25 years. Does Dr. Grant investigate the side effects of Cymbalta and prescribe something else? In my experience and opinion the answer is No, instead, Dr. Grant advises the patient to divorce their supportive, loving husband. It is my opinion that this is not responsible medicine, this is total disregard for a patient's welfare and his medical practice license should be revoked for the safety of the public.

In my opinion you want to get you life ruined just see Cathal Grant!!
