Dr. Preston Riley from Surgery Group, SC in Geneva was my son's surgeon at Delnor. He does general surgery (abdominal). He had great bedside manner with us. I personally would use him again.

Dean Shoener, also of Surgery Group, S.C., 1665 South Street, Geneva, removed my gall bladder in 2007. Professional and kind. Highly recommended. ###-###-####. www.surgerygroup.net. Good luck to you.

Hi,

I just had my gall bladder out last month and Dr. Irene Wu was fantastic!!! She came highly recommended by our regular doc, who has see her for his own surgery! I was also able to get in right away and had the surgery pretty much right after.

Here is her info:

Midwest Surgery, S.C.
2210 Dean Street
Suite B
Saint Charles
IL, 60175

I should also say that if you can't get into see Wu, that our reg. doc said any of the docs there are good. Another thing that he mentioned is that when look for a surgeon, you want to find a younger doc as they learn on the laparoscopy, whereas the older surgeons have to train on them after years of doing the surgeries the old school way.

This was my first surgery. I was very nervous. Make sure you line up some help for afterwards. Though your children are older, so you will get lots of help from them, the first week you will be pretty out of it. The second week isn't as bad...in fact it is hard to remember not to do the normal things you would do because you feel so much better. No heavy lifting for at least 3 weeks. :-( Feel free to private message me, if you have questions.
