Looking for Fun Parks

I was looking for fun parks to go to with our 18 month old son. Places where it is fairly safe for him to run around since the whole "listening" thing hasn't kicked in yet, so telling him to be careful doesn't work yet. Where is the Anna Maria Water Park? Do we just go to the main park and we will see it? Just want to know what other people do for outside activities with toddlers this age. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We just got back from Marina Jack's and had a great time. It is such an amazing park and I can't believe I didn't know about it. We will definately check out the route 70 park as well. Keep the ideas coming, I really appreciate them!!
Oh, we also went to Fillipi park and that is a really nice place. Great playground and wide open spaces. Our son did great there, too bad it isn't closer.

I am in NW Bradenton. A good spot is Lewis park because it is FENCED IN!!! Very nice for young toddlers. It has plenty of shade. It is off of Manatee Ave in Bradenton- Behind Trinity Church (30Th St W and 1St Ave W). You may wish to contact SarasotaMommy.com they probably know the parks in Sarasota. I am D. with WhatsHappeningManatee.com and I can tell you all about the parks in Bradenton.
Take care

Have you tried the playground and water park in Sarasota (it is right behind a restaurant - I believe Marina Jack's) - it is a nice park. There is also a fully fenced and covered playground right off of St Rd 70 behind the Hwy State Patrol office and the Braden River Library.

Hope this helps some...

Hello, I go to the water park almost every weekend with my two kids and you have to be on him all the time because there are alot of older kids that don't look where they are going. But there is a little section at the top for the baby's anf theres a play ground. Once you pull in to Anna Maria Park you go to the end parking lot to the left. There will be a side walk that leads you to a restaurant called O'Learys once you get to O'learys you keep following the side walk all the way to the back and it will run right into the kids park. Hope that helps.

my girls like potter park by sarasota square mall it has like 5 differant playgrounds for differant age groups and it has a walking trail that starts by the playground and ends by the parking lot which makes leaving time easy and you get a little extra exercise by taking a wlk before you go i found it helps my girls settle down before we go
