I am a SAHM and my son is getting bored! We do the normal days out, parks, splashpads, reading, bubbles, etc... but I really think that he is geting bored with me. I know this is normal, however I would love to start a tumbling, music, or other type of class with him. If anyone has ideas that would be wonderful!!!

What can I do next?

Check out your community activities for all ages, and families, posted in the neighborhood or subdivision book with great activities listed for the summer at a nominal fee. Or, get a listing of the childcare centers in your area, or county, check them out, and enroll your child, part time to socialize with peers his own age. Therefore, he would be able to learn developmental skills through constructive play, and have fun all at the same time.

If you are still interested in possibly attending a music class, I highly recommend a Music Together class. I don't know where you live, but they are located in different areas. There are two that I know of: one in Farmington Hills (www.MusicMakersCenter.com) and one in Canton (www.HarmonyAndMeKids.com). If neither of these are close to you, you can try an internet search using Music Together. It is a national and international program. If you don't come up with anything on your search that is close to you, try contacting one of the instructors at the websites I gave you they might be able to help you out in finding a class close to you. The classes are wonderful. I have been attending them with my three children for almost seven years now.

Hi E.,

Summer session Music Together classes are happening right now in Canton on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. I opened Harmony and Me this past Spring after teaching Music Together in Farmington Hills for 4 years. This early childhood music and movement program is designed for children 0-5 and their parents/caregivers. I offer 45 minute classes that include songs, dance, rhythm rhymes, chants and instrument play. It is very energetic, fun and nuruturing for each family that participates!! Tuition includes 2 professionally recorded Cd's, Songbook and Parent Education Guide as well as the session classes.

Please feel free to go to my website www.HarmonyAndMeKids.com or contact me at ____@____.com or ###-###-#### if you are interested in learning more about Music Together classes. Tuition for summer classes would be pro-rated and will run until August 2nd, with an additional week Aug 8th & 9th for make-up classes.

I am also a Mom and have participated in this program with both of my daughters when they were infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. I'd love for you and your son to join us this summer!!

I take my 20 month old to Gymboree classes. She loves them. They are a bit pricey but they are worth it. In the summer you can go to as many age appropriate classes as you want which has also been wonderful.

Hi E.,
Check out www.bilingualfun.com for a list of class schedules. I own the company and we offer fun, interactive parent/child Spanish classes. Our toddler class is for 2-3 yr olds, but we welcome 18 months and older. We are located in Plymouth. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
