Hello,
I’m looking for dishwasher safe pots and pans. I’ve been using hand wash only pots and pans for years and I can’t take it anymore. lol

Between working, going to school, and 2 children with 1 on the way I would prefer to be able to throw my pots and pans in the dishwasher.

I know I sound lazy, but I am just trying to save a little bit of time.

Thanks

What can I do next?

I wash all my pots and pans in the dishwasher they are stainless steel. I also wash my super nice knife set (gasp) I know some things say not to go in the dishwasher but they tend to find their way in there.

Any pots and pans that aren't non-stick should do. My stainless steel pots and pans are fine in the dishwasher. I only hand wash my non-stick pan.

I throw everything in the dishwasher that isn't cast iron.
The non-stick pans come out all right.
I have a few cheaper non-sticks that do wear out eventually - but they were cheap in the first place so I got my money's worth out of them.
I've got a T-Fal non-stick deep skillet that's going strong after 14 years.
If you don't care about non-stick I have a set of Revere Ware with copper bottoms that will out last me that I would recommend.

I've found that washing pots and pans in the dishwasher that have bakelite or plastic like handles dulls the finish on the handles. And that non-stick surfaces quickly lose their non-stick properties. I wash my stainless steel pans with stainless steele handles in the dishwasher. Because they hold the heat and distribute it more evenly I only use pans with aluminum sandwiched between stainless steele in the bottom.

My daughter and I have both put non-stick pans in the dishwasher and were distressed to find that food stuck on them. We still use them but have to use more oil when sauteing. I've found that a non-stick finish on regular pots is not all that helpful. Just put water in them until you're ready to wash them.

Why can't you wash your pans in the dishwasher? If it's because of the non-stick finish and if you don't care if it loses that quality go ahead and wash them in the dishwasher. My daughter has ended up doing that.

Stainless steel pots should be fine in the dishwasher. As you already know, washing Teflon or cast iron in the dishwasher is a big no-no, for a variety of reasons. Have you tried green pans like Scanpans? They cost more, but are non-stick, non-teflon, and dishwasher safe! You can buy them in a variety of cooking-supply stores, and also find them on Amazon.com.

I wash everything in the dishwasher, and I have a WIDE range of pots and pans, from cheap Teflon and Ikea stuff all the way up to expensive stainless steel and enameled cast iron.
Have you actually TRIED washing your current stuff in the dishwasher? It will probably be fine.
I'm pretty sure the only real no-no is real, non treated cast iron because of course, it will rust, instantly. Oh, and copper, too.
