Here's one you can and check on, the phone number is ###-###-####. The daycare also has a service where they pick up kids. It is a licensed family child care provider. Hope this helps you.
When my older girls were little they used to go to day care at a friend's home and it was much more financially doable than us paying for in home babysitting. I'm hoping to find a caring. patient licensed provider who has a day care in their home close by. We live in El Sobrante which is close to San Pablo, Richmond, Orinda, Pinole, Lafayette and El Cerrito. Any recommendations?

I am not sure if Pleasant Hill is too far for you but it is close to the Lafayette border. Before School Prep Program. ###-###-#### you can ask for Faye. They are great and have been around for 20+ years. I have recommended others who have all been very happy. My son has been there for over a year (started when he was 4 months old) and when I leave he just waves bye. I love that he is so comfortable, it's always clean, the children listen and they love the children. Also they do what you ask them to without trying to tell you their opinions. As a new mom I loved that.
Try looking into Little Sweet Peas Day Nursery. It's ran by Kelli Tharpe, it's right off of San Pablo Road exit. She and her staff took care of my two children for years before we moved out of Contra Costa County. She's one of a kind! She's got so much patience and kindness, it's unreal. I'd recommend her to anyone and would use her again in a heart beat if I lived closer. I even commuted my children there for months after moving until I found another provider. I don't have her current phone number anymore, but know she's still in business as she's been at it for over a decade and I know you'd be very pleasantly suprised when meeting her. Again, Little Sweet Peas in San Pablo, Kelli Tharpe, Director. Good Luck!

Check out the Contra Costa Childcare Council (http://www.cocokids.org). They are there to help find childcare placement...whether you're looking for a nanny, a babysitter, an in-home daycare, or daycare center. You tell them the parameters (ie: location, type of child care, etc..) and they will send you a list of providers in the area. Bananas (http://www.bananasinc.org) does the same thing for Alameda county. It is, by far, the easiest and most effective way to start your search. Good luck!
