Hi B., if you are just looking to "burn" candles for just lighting and ambiance then walmart, Ikea or Jo-ann's would be your best bet.
Keep in mind the burn time, when considering "value" when comparing them. Many of the very inexpensive candles are that wierd "whipped" wax that burns up so fast or tunnels down the core of the candle, vs burning the entire candle. So you are really only burning 1/3rd of the candle, and buying 3 candles vs one. And then only enjoying the fragrance when you are practically standing right next to it, so often you need one in several rooms of the house to enjoy the scent vs 1-2 highly fragranced candles depending on the size of your house.
If you are looking for fantastic fragranced candles to scent your home, then considering having a candle party, so you can EARN free candles vs paying for them :)
And wouldn't you know, I know a Gold Canyon Candle Rep. (Me! :)) and I would love to throw a home or catalog party for you! I bring over 80 scents to your home to sample. If you are interested, you can email me at ____@____.com, or go to my website to check it out at www.mygc.com/txcandlefreak.
Over 70% of thier candles are priced less than Yankee, White Barn etc but you can earn them for FREE with night of friends, food and fabulous fragrances, not to mention there are tons of scents to choose from, and there are flameless candles available - they truly are the World Finest candles! I was converted over 8 years ago (formerly bought Salt City, White Barn and Illuminations and others), and have been selling them for about 2 years almost. Sorry, I get carried away.... Clearly, I'm a fan and a true candle freak :)
