I second Dr. Blevins
My husband sent me a list of Endocrinologists that I could make an appointment with, but since there were so many, I wanted to see your recommendations.
Thanks for the responses. I called one of the Endo's suggested and they required that my doctor refer me to them. I told them that the insurance I have doesn't require a referral...but it didn't matter. I then made an appt with my doctor to get my thyroid levels checked out and asked them for a referral. Another doctor was filling in and didn't want to refer me. The doctor asked, "What do they (endo) do that we don't do here?" I didn't really know how to respond except, "They check my eyes out." Now I still don't have a referral and I want to have an endo doctor. Now what do I do? Isn't it my right to have one since my insurance will pay for it. Can I demand a referral? What is the answer to the doctors question?

Definately Dr. Blevins or Dr. Paul Moore.
Hello mama
my name is V. and i to am from bertram
i am not very familiar with specialty dr's in the area but i would recommend that you see your family dr. First and see whom he or she recommends, and take it from there. I have a great family dr. And i would trust him with just about anything regarding our health, if no luck there just get back in touch with me and i will be glad to ask my boss for any recommendations. Good luck V.
I go to Padma Horvit and I absolutely love her. I recommended her to several of the nurses I work with and they love her as well. She's very smart and has a great bedside manner!
I see Dr. Bledsoe with Austin Regional Clinic, Seton NW Hospital office. I ultimately had my thyroid removed and so she has regulated my Synthroid dose. I feel great!
