Hi I recently moved to Dallas from San Antonio and am in search of a new Gyno. I delivered my baby in San Antonio and used a midwife...LOVED her!! But now I'm in Dallas and need a great, preferably female, gentle Gyno. I am not currently pregnant but am ready to get back on birth control pills and go for annual check ups, etc. I live in uptown Dallas so I dont want to go farther than Walnut Hill. I want someone GREAT!!! Thanks a bunch.

What can I do next?

Lynsey's right. Susan Akins is wonderful! She has an office in East Dallas at Baylor Medical Center and in Mesquite. I prefer the Mesquite office because you don't have to pay for parking. She was on call during my first L&D when my previous doc was out of town and she was wonderful. Then I stopped using my previous doc because I loved Susan so much. She delivered my 2nd and it was a wonderful L&D experience. Her phone number is ###-###-####.

I have six children and know a thing or two about gynocologists. Dr. Maxey in las colinas...the best I have ever seen. I even took business cards to give to my friends. He is so cool and down to earth. As crazy as it sounds I actually enjoy going. He is so funny. the number is ###-###-####....Tuscan drive. ....you won't be sorry. He is male but still awesome

I highly recommend my ob -- Dr Sandra Z Brothers and her partner Dr. Melissa Crochet -- especially if you had a midwife experience previously. You might also like her former partners Dr. Lawson and Dr. Graham (who's a former Air Force Dr so is a little bit dry). I love Dr Brother's nurses and her new office is very nice. She works out of Big Baylor.

All of them have been the emergency Drs for the birthing center on Swiss so they are well versed in natural delivery (and having giving birth themselves either in the birth center or unmedicated in the hospital) are very open to natural delivery. (They are not opposed to epidurals though). They are very pro-breastfeeding too. They have one of the lowest c-s rates in the area too.

Well, she isn't a GYN, but you could try Susan Akins, CNM. She works out of Baylor Dallas and can do well-woman exams. I haven't personally used her, but many of my friends have and have spoken very highly of her.
