We are flying to CA next week and I need to get some new apps for the trip to keep my 5 & 3 yr old boys entertained.

Any suggestions for apps I can download that we can use in "airplane mode?"

You can also download kids books to iBooks ahead of time so that they are ready for the plane

My kids like:
- Crazy Penguin Catapult
- Angry Birds
- Traffic Rush
- Fruit Ninja
- Where's My Water

For Fruit Ninja, I usually set them up in the mode that lets them play for 1.5 minutes and see how many fruits they can cut instead of an arcade mode where the game can end quickly if they miss a fruit. I think it's called Zen mode.

For Angry Birds, I've completed the game so that allows them to jump around from level to level. And they haven't really mastered really aiming the birds or using each bird's special ability. But that doesn't keep them from having fun with it.

For more educational type games, they seem to like:
o ABC - Letters, Numbers, Shapes, and Colors with Mathaliens HD
o Zoo Train
o Monkey Math
o Alien Buddies

They like the Mathaliens and Zoo train ones more than the other two.

Monkey math is a little weird in that there aren't any stages or levels. You just play and it shows a random math related screen. My kids are 3 and I think some of Monkey Math may be too advanced, but it doesn't keep them from trying it.

Talking Carl (can get a little loud)

Tozzle

Not very educational, but they get my five year old's seal of approval.
