My 6 year old daughters has warts on her knees and the doctor has prescribed a medication to rub on the warts 3 times a week for 2 months but i was wondering if anyone knew of a faster way to get rid of them. I have tried duct tape which ive read that works better than the medicated bandaids but its not working on my daughter because the tape wont stay on her knees very well. Please any advice would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well finally I found something that completely took away my daughters warts!!!! BANANA PEELS!!!!! I took the advice from another mamasource mom and it really did work! I put a piece of a soft banana peel on top of the wart which was on her knee and put a large band-aid over it and left it on overnight and the next morning they shrunk abt 3/4 of the size. My daughter also had about 3 or 4 around the cuticle on her thumb and just by rubbing the banana peel on the warts for a few seconds a day, within about a week they disappeared!!! Thank-you so much for the wonderful advice!!!

I don't think there are any quick solutions to clearing up warts. They have to suffocate, since they are a live virus, which takes time. The best luck I ever had with healing them was using castor oil...which is a main ingredient in some of the over the counter medications for them. Soak cotton balls with pure castor oil and tape them over the warts...several times a day. Over time the warts turn brown and die. No way to get around having to use tape or bandaids. Even if you use the large square bandaids...cover the wart first with the castor oil soaked cotton ball and put the large bandaid over them. Nasty, I know. But it does work.

Okay, now..before you freak out and delete this thinking I am some crazy witch dr. just hear me out. okay!
When I was a little girl I had warts on my hands, actually I had an aunt and a cousin that were bad too. I was young probably around 10 or so and my Granny told me to steal/take a old dish rag, that was my mothers dish rag, like her favorite one and to go into the back yard and dig a hole, bury it and wait. She probably prayed a real strong prayer I am sure, knowing my Granny. Anyway, I did it, I took my mom's most favorite old dishrag and buried it in my back yard, but the catch was, you wouldn't tell her about it. It was about 3 weeks later and I kid you not, that wart fell right out, no scar or anything. Then when I had an aunt and her son had a few warts I told her about it, she did it, it was years and years ago, but it worked. I am not lying. She tells people to this very day about it. When I had my old child, my daughter who is now 17, she had a wart on her hand, again, I did the same thing, this time I used one of my Granny's rags. And about 3 weeks later it fell off, without a scar or pain or anything. I am sure a nice strong belief and prayer will work along with this as well. I know you are thinking I am crazy by now, but hey, you never know, anything is worth trying at this point. Also, have you tried Freeze Off from the Pharmacy, my mom has used that before. But, if you do the dish rag, just let know it worked. ____@____.com

oh my gash, my son has tons of warts and i tried everything. Even his biggest ones we got rid of. It is at walmart, cant remeber what it is called, i will find out, sorry. but it is called freeze something. well you put this little can and attach it to a little tube that you put over the wart, this is painless and works, you just have to be consistent with it, especially on big warts don't stop. let me know if you do not find it, before i do.

Hello N.,
I have a 7 year old little boy who also had warts on his knees. I tried Compound W liquid, and it just burned his skin. So, his doctor recommended the band-aids that has the medication on it already and within 1 week they were gone. Plus, I don't know if your little one is a band-aid freak or not, but mine sure is so he was VERY happy to wear them.
Hope that helped.

I have been reading about vinegar and how it works to remove athletes foot, warts, pimples, psoriasis, and so many other health issues.

http://www.lacetoleather.com/warts.html is a website that talks about using vinegar. I have been using it and amazing how it took away all my pain in my shoulders. It got rid of the uric acid that accumilates there and causes terrible pain. After taking the vinegar for a few days I noticed the pain is gone and has been gone for 3 weeks now.

Hopefully it will help take away the warts on your daughters hands. It can just be applied to her hands or look up potatoes and warts.. that should also help remove it.

Also another web site says banana peel on the wart makes it go away too... read it at http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/bananapeel.html

Interesting that many used the banana peel and it cured the warts....but at the end of the website it also has many stories where people did things like the dish rag story the otehr lady spoke of and it worked.

May this help your child.

Take care,

E.
