Does anyone have any suggestions for a sports themed party venue in the Balt/AAco. area? My soon to be 5yo son wants to do "sports" for his BD and I am having a hard time finding a cool place. Is there a multi sports place around? So far I can only come up with the bowling alley and don't want to do the Rollie Pollie/Pump it Up type places- don't get me wrong they are GREAT places but, been there done that at recent parties for friends. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

So, after following up on many of the great suggestions and coming within literally hours of actually placing a deposit- my son caught a Pump It up commercial on PBS and went nuts! Therefore, even though we have been there,done that- we will be doing it again! Turns out it's the only place besides Severna Park Bowling alley that could accomodate the schedule of his traveling-to-Maryland Aunt and the every other weekend cousins. And quite frankly, any place that acommodate my wide rear on an obstacle cousre and the big slide is to cool indeed! Thanks again for all the insights!

Near Anne Arundel County in Howard County is Lifetime Fitness that has sports themed parties and you don't have to be a member to have a party there. Also there is The Soccer Dome on Mondevideo Drive off Route 1 near Route 100 that has soccer game parties with referee included.

There is a multi-sports complex in Severna Park/Millersville. If you are familiar with where the old Benfield Ice Rink was, it occupies that same building. If you take Benfield Rd towards 97, cross over 97, it's on your left. Or if you were heading south on 97 from 100, you would take the first Benfield Road exit, I believe (Benfield Rd, not towards Severna Park).
I don't know specifically if they do birthday parties, but you could ask. I wish I knew the official name of the place - can't seem to find it online.

Check out local gym's or health clubs or pools in your area. I live in Columbia and the Columbia Association Gyms offer basketball b-day parties, swim/splashdown parties (huge waterslides), multi sport (rock climb, basketball, and other games I can't remember), mini golf parties. They aren't too expensive either.
Check out Columbia Sports Complex in Howard County. They have mini golf and batting cages.

Two suggestions, only problem might be location. First is a neat place called Checkered Go Kart on Pulaki Hwy. (Rt. 40). Kids get to mini golf, go kart ride (they have age appropriate karts), Carvel ice cream cake, pizza & sodas. Problem is it's all outside so if the weather is bad it sucks. Another thought is Eastpoint Mall (between North Point Blvd. & Eastern Ave.) has a place called Ultra Zone. It's laser tag. It's a great way for the little men & ladies to burn off some energy. If you have a B-day party there, only the little ones can go in together. There's flashing lights, music, they wear vests with different colors & try to laser each other while hiding in little cubby holes, etc. It's a lot of fun (I'm terrible at it). They also have rooms where you can do the cake & pizza thing, I'm not sure what's included anymore, but it was an extreme hit with my Son's friends a few years ago. The adults from the party can play also. Plus there's a video arcade there too & you get so many tokens to give to the kids.

There are some great places here in Howard county, as well as one that I know of in AA. The one in AA, is called SoccerDome and it's near (about 4-5 miles) from Arundel Mills ( I did a foorball party there last year, it doesn't have to be soccer). You can also try lifetime fitness they offer parties, as well as EarthTreks, which is Rock climbing. If your child likes to just run and jump there's always the gymnastics places or how about the Roller rink off of route 3.

what about the PG County Sports and Learning Complex?
Try the Maryland Sportsplex: www.mdsportsplex.com. I had never heard of it before, but my son just started soccer there and the trainers are great! If you go on the website there is a link for birthday parties down on the left-hand side of the page. You can choose various sports to fill up the 'play' time. Hope this helps!

In Pasadena, right where 100 and Mtn. rd meet is the driving range, mini golf, batting cages. I am sure there are other places like that in the area also. Just an idea.

There is a really cool place in Elkridge called, "Rounding Third", it's located off Rt.1 just past 100. I haven't been there in over a year so I'm not sure if it is still there, but sounds like exactly what you're looking for.
There is also a laser tag place in laurel across from laurel mall. It's on Rt.1. xplasersport.com
In Owings Mills ther eis the Owings Mills Sports Complex. I have never been there but the sign outside says they do birthday partis. I think it should be worth checking out!
