The Shelton School is very good. Hillcrest and Arapaho.
Any suggestions for a good private school for almost Jr Higher with learning disabilities? Looking for as far North or NE Dallas as possible.

If they will be in 5th grade next year, you might check out Life School McKinney. It is not a private school, but a charter school. They have all the same special ed programs that the public schools have, but with practically no students. It is an awsome school.
My daughter went to St. Timothy Academy in Plano for her 5th & 6th grade years. It was a great, loving, supportive environment for her. It's a young, small school, but the teachers and the head are amazing.
I've known a couple of people who've sent one of their children to the Shelton School (www.shelton.org). No idea about pricing but I assume it's a good school and it's N.Dallas and goes all the way through 12th grade.
I am going through the EXACT same search right now. I have toured 6 schools as of now, most are in Dallas. I am also in Mckinney so this will be difficult. The closest one is Great Lakes in Plano off of Custer, there is also Southwest Academy in Allen, but I haven't looked into them as of yet. Whare are your childs learning concerns? Where do you go go school now? If you send me your email address I can forward you a link to a list of schools that helped me get started.
Southwest School is good.
There is also a school in North Dallas but I cannot remember the name of it?
Have you considered home schooling?
My son is in Kindergarten and goes to Southwest Academy in Allen. My nephews are in 1st and 2nd grades and go to Oak Hill in Dallas.
