Hi my name is E., I am a 23 yr old wife and mother of a 2 1/2 yr old boy and a 16 month old girl. My son will be 3 in March and wanted to put him in preschool. I have looked around a little bit but was just curious if anyone had a reccomendation on a school. My husband and I would like a fairly inexpensive and structured place where he can learn, play, and socialize with other children and teachers. I have stayed home with him since he was born and he has only had his grandparents as babysitters, they live in Illinois so they have both only watched him a handfull of times. We'd like to get him into school when he is 3 because I think he would love it and I think he needs to learn to listen to someone other than his father and I.

What can I do next?

I have my son at Mesa View Christian Preschool and we love it! I started him this year, which is his last year before kindergarten, but I intend to start my twins next year (they turn 3 in March) It is located at Montano and Taylor Ranch Rd. They have a great program, the teachers are great and everyone seems very involved.

We are similar in that my Mom has really been our only babysitter with the exception of once or twice, and I have stayed home since my twins were born, and before they came, my oldest just went to work with me most of the time, unless hubby or my mom was available to watch them.

I would look into Kids Under Construction at Saint Stephens in Albuquerque. It is located just north of Montgomery on the westside of Juan Tabo.My mom was a preschool teacher and she retired when I had children so she could spend time with them. We reviewed numerous schools together before my son was old enough to start attending. She actually picked this school because she felt really strongly about my children attending good schools and I figure with her experience (A masters in earlyl childhood development) that she would know best, so I trusted her judgment and was happy I did!! My son went there and loved it. I have recommended to many other moms who have also been very happy there. My son was very attached to me and starting him in school was hard, but the staff there really helped him and he did really well. The director's name is Terry, and she is really personable and affectionate. I truly feel that it is a great program!!

I emphatically reccommend the Preschool at First Congregational UCC. It is only a few hours a day, reasonably priced with scholarships available, NYAAC accredited and has the most amazing and caring staff. I am the pickiest person I know (having worked in childcare for 5 years) and it passes my standards test with flying colors. The cirriculum is kid based and just wonderful. Please look into it, Im sure you'll love it.

Hi E.,

My son is 5 years old and started attending Paradise Hills Community Preschool( last September. I can't say enough GREAT things about the school and staff!!

The school is located at Irving, just west of Unser. They only accept children who are potty-trained, and are a very parent involved school. ALL the staff treats EVERY child with so much love! Classes are offered on M-Fridays mornings/afternoons. Classes on M/W/F are from 8:00-12:00 and 12:30-3:30. T/Th 8:00-12:30 and 1:00 to 3:30pm. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED CALL THE SCHOOL SOON. CLASSES FILL UP VERY QUICKLY AND THEY START FALL REGISTRATION AT THE END OF FEBRUARY. ###-###-####

The classes are VERY structured! They learn music, reading, writing, and lots more. They take field trips at least once a month.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the school. I could probably talk your ear off about just how AWESOME the school is.
