I was at Cute as a Button last week and they had the ones that flip up and down from the seat. Looked very convenient. Flip up out of the way for an adult. Flip down for a child.
I am looking for a potty seat that would go on the toilet. I bought one for my older son from One Step Ahead called Step Up Potty. There are two handles that connect to the seat and a step. It worked fine except that it left an imprint on his bottom from the hard plastic and the "screws" have broken in half. So, it is no longer usable and I now need one for my youngest son. I'm not sure if I should purchase the same one again, they now make it with a cushion, or buy something entirely different that you just set on the seat. All of the reviews seem to be split, they are anywhere from, this works great, to this is the worst product. Just wondering what you have had success with, especially those of you with boys. I am only interested in the seats that go directly on the toilet, not a separate potty chair. TIA

Target has the separate seat that is cushy and has two handles. They sell matching step stools.
We got a cushy one with handles on each side that you can take off the toilet seat. I purchased them at Target but saw them at Baby's R us as well. They were inexpensive and I bought 3, two for our house and 1 for the grandparents house because they watch the kids.
One step ahead has a neat seat to replace the one you currently have and it also has a child's one built in so there is no need to keep taking one on and off! You just fold it up or down depending on who has to go! Check it out on their website!
Hi. I got mine at baby's r us. It's the padded one. For boys it comes with a little detachable cup in the front. It's easy and has worked just fine for my son.
I bought mine from Target. It worked out great. Very comfortable & sturdy for the kids. My daughter was able to take it on and off after she was done.
target and babies r us have cushion ones that we use at the grandma's houses ...... they also have optional step stools. there are no parts or screws and they work great.
I use the fisher price potty chair. It has multi uses. They can use it as stool, potty chair, or the seat detaches and fits on the toilet seat.
we have a boy and have had the best luck with our baby bjorn one (from babies r us). it is not cushy but we have a cushy one and he prefers this. he puts it on and off himself and there's no extra cup to worry about for boys (it's built into the molded plastic). since we used the baby bjorn potty (which he also preferred to 2 others we had), this was a natural transition. good luck.
We use these potty seats youc an buy at walmart, they are about 10dollors with dora or blues clues on them, and it just sits over the actual seat, makeing a toddler sized toliet. Son loves it because when he has to go he gets to get it out and put it on himself and put it away when he is done. Here is a link to what one looks like on ebay.
