PAWSchicago.org is a good organization. I have done the PAWS walk for the last 4 years with my dog. Also a good site is petfinder.org or .com, not sure. This site will list all available dogs by your specifications - age, breed, gender, etc.
Good luck on your search. All kids should grow up with a dog so good for you!

HI. We got our puppy from Wright Way Rescue and he is wonderful. If you look on Petfinder.com, they have tons of puppies and also let you know where and when the next adoption is. Thanks and good luck in your search. C.

We just adopted a puppy last Friday. Check out Petfinder.com. There are so many places out there that I never knew about. This website will allow you to look for specific types of dogs and view most of them on line. You can also fill out adoption applications on line to save you time, so you can make sure you are approved before you go to check the animals out. Good Luck!!! It is fun!!! I am glad you are choosing to adopt an animal in need.

HI I don't know what kind of dog you might be looking for,but I have 2 greyhounds that I rescued from a greyhound rescue and they are great with my 2 year old son. Most are not puppies but at least 2 years old.Very loving ,very gentle. The agency will try and match you up with a dog that works with your family. There are all kinds of rescue agency out there I would try one of those as well.Good Luck N.

Hi E.:
I highly recommend the Animal Care League in Oak Park. They should be getting in puppies this spring. Good luck!

We've been looking on petfinder.org. They find the type of dog you want and tell you where they have them.
