Looking for a New Pediatrician in the Olathe Area.

We have an absolutely wonderful pediatrician! Her name is Jennifer Mellick at Pediatric Partners. She is actually in Overland Park, but just off 435 in the building connected to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. They have priveleges at several hospitals including Children's Mercy South which I really liked! She is not only up on the latest things, but she has a wonderful bedside manner! Better call now for an appointment if you want one anytime soon as she is always booked up. Although if your child is sick they have a walk-in clinic (where you don't need an appointment) 8am-10am Monday-Friday & again 3:00-4:30 Monday - Thursday. She has 3 partners...Dr. Hubbard (female), Dr. Stuppy (female) and Dr. Blum (male...my children haven't been seen by him). I think the world of our pediatrician, Dr. Tara Grimaldi and her practice right behind Olathe Medical Center. I met Dr. Grimaldi when she was doing her residency at Children's Mercy (I am a nurse there) and she has been great with my 7 month old (he was a preemie and she handled his follow up very well). She is practice with Drs Monzon and Crifasi and I seem to able to get in any time I need to see someone (we had to see Dr. Crifasi once and she was great also) and they have a sick child/well child waiting room. I have 9 month old twins that go to the same office as Stephanie mentioned, only they primarily see Dr. Moore. We really like his personality and caring, though we have been frustrated with the office before there too - not sure how much of our frustration is typical of a doctors office anymore though. Some things that have been frustrating are...

- ability to get our kids in when they are sick - this can be very difficult. For this office, you have to call at 8:00 to grab an open spot for the day and since everyone calls then, it takes a while to get in. So, we have ended up taking them to same day care at Arbor Creek a couple times.

- billing issues - though this may be because we have twins and my husband and I have gone to the same office. They have filed claims under the wrong person several times and we are still struggling with our insurance for bills from Aug/Sept

- other doctors and/or nurses in the office dismissing concerns, or delivering different messages. - McGinnis was not an issue on this though either

My whole family goes Dr. Keller and we love him. We also like his partner Dr. Ratzlaff.

I love our pediatrician. His name is Dr. Michael McGinnis. He married a high school friend of mine as has actually been over to our house to babysit :) He is very gentle, just adores my 2 kids, and really listens to what you have to say. I love his nurse, she is so kind and helpful when I go in.

He is located in near the hospital at 151st st across from the mall. The only negative thing I can say is that his office staff isn't the best, but that is no judge on him as a doctor.

We were looking as well, for our little boy due this July. A good couple friend of our's suggested Dr. Bray with Pediatric Care Specialists. They are in the new bldg behind St. Luke's South (12541 Foster, suite 260). We met with her yesterday to see if she is a good fit AND she was WONDERFUL. I would highly recommend her and the clinic. You can meet with her and the support staff for a free visit to see if it's a good fit.

We moved here this year and chose the Pediatric Assoc. of Olathe (in doctor's bldg 1 at Olathe medical center). We have seen Tara Grimaldi several times and are very impressed. She is very thorough and great with the kids. She is young and I think she did her residency at Children's Mercy. We are well versed in the medical area and she meets and exceeds our expectations.
