I'm in search of a church that my family and I can call home. I am planning to visit Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, the Chapel in Palatine and Willow Creek in Barrington. We are looking for a warm, inviting congregation that has a solid children's program. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the three churches I mentioned or any suggestions for other churches in the area we should check out. Thank you in advance!

What can I do next?

My family attends Meadows Christian Fellowship (in Rolling Meadows). We love it! Small church with such a warm, supportive community of people. Very family-friendly (just had VBS last week); have an Awana program, as well as jr. high & sr. high programs. [If you're into something bigger, Willow & Harvest are amazing, too...according to friends who attend.] One of our many kid events is Fri. Aug. 1st: CINEMA UNDER THE STARS— the movie "FROZEN"
Friday, August 1st - REAL SNOW Blizzard Starts @ 5:30; Movie Starts @ 8:45pm It's outdoors & FREE & open to the community. :)

I highly recommend the Village Church of Barrington. They have a great children's program and a lot of other whole church/family events. There are two service styles: a contemporary service in the gym on Saturday nights and Sundays at 11:00 (the Sunday sermon is recorded from Saturday) and a more traditional service in the sanctuary at 8:00 and 11:00 on Sundays. Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 and children's church for birth-fifth grade during the message. Sweet, friendly people. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. www.vcbweb.org

I really recommend willow creek. Their children's program is amazing and so is the program for junior high and the one for high school so kids are supported all through 18 yrs. The congregation is large, but each seating section has its own focus. For example section 102b is mainly for families with young children. Section 103b is for family's with kids in grade school. We have scheduled gatherings after church and outside of church to build our friendships. Section 102b is having a gathering after the service tomorrow. :) The seating hosts can direct you to the proper section.
Oh, and 102b has several families from Palatine.

Our family goes to Palatine Methodist right downtown. Solid children's program through high school (strong youth group) and it even has a daycare/school. It's not near as big as the ones you've mentioned but if you want a warm congregation it would be hard to beat. I teach the 2-3 Sunday School class. Email me at ____@____.com or text me at ###-###-#### if you would someone there to welcome you!!! Good luck in your search and Godspeed to the right "home".
