Looking for a Lightweight Stroller!!

I just bought the Chicco Capri and absolutely love it. The basket on the bottom is small and it doesn't have a cup holder but it has a carrying case with a sling and great maneuverability.

I have the Macleran Triumph and it is the best stoller, worth every penny. I gave up my travel system as soon as she was out of the car seat and have not looked back. It is a great stoller with a seat that changes postions and basket under. The handles are nice and padded and it is so easy to stear.

We have an Maclaren Quest- which I highly recommend. I ordered it from Albeebaby.com their prices are great, free shipping over $100. We travel every 3-4 months to Florida to visit my family and the stroller is great in the airport, it's lasted through gate checks at least 20 times with no damage- at all! It folds up like an umbrella stroller, and gives you great features like a recline, under seat storage, sun visor. It's small enough where you can push it through stores like Kohls where the clothing racks are super close together. I believe you get what you pay for and although this stroller is close to $200, it's worth every penny. I am 5'3" and it's easy to unfold, lightweight and it's so easy to push. My husband is 6' and he has no issues with it either. We also ordered the Maclaren organizer to hold sippys and bottles which is great.

We have the Chicco Capri and I love it. I'm 5 ft. 1 in. and I find it comfortable to push around, easy to fold up and it stores nicely in the back of our little Scion xD. It has a small storage basket underneath which is not big but handy and it even has a strap that you can use to carry it on your shoulder if need be. It's really light & easy to use and a great change from the big stroller we had before. We had a cheapy umbrella stroller which was hard for anyone in my family to push but with the Capri this hasn't been a problem. You won't feel hunched over like you do with a regular umbrella stroller. I got ours for $45 with a coupon at Babies R' Us.

I have the Chicco C5, and I use it daily to walk my dog. I think it's nice--very easy to steer, easy to push, sturdy feeling. Admittedly, I am taller than you (5'6"), so that may throw things off. It has a great rain cover included with it (again, important for me with the dog needing to be walked regardless of weather). The recline function is really easy and can be done in seconds with or without a child in the stroller.

I have to pass this along becuz it has done wonders for me...
My now 27 month old went through about 4 lt. weight strollers until I cam across my combi! I must Say I love it. we have had it for almost a year and it has not broken down, it has easy fold easy open. Also has the luxury of a shoulder strap for when you need to compact it and dont want to be left holding baby in one hand and stroller, diaper bag in the other. I LOVE MY COMBI AND I KNOW U WILL TOO!

I have the Macleran and I love it. I also have a double stroller made by them. They make great lightweight and durable strollers.

I have the Jeep stroller and am on my second child with it. It has gone to Niagara Falls, and chitz'en itsa mexico as well as many other less rigorous destinations. It has held up extremely well and gets used for many walks around the neighborhood as well as the mall. The larger than most umbrella stroller tires are wonderful for navigating curbs and any slightly rocky terrain. The last time I posted about this stroller I checked BabiesRUs' site and it looks like they have slightly remodeled this stroller. I would think that this new version would work just as well, but maybe you could find an old yellow and blue one at a consignment store. That's the style I have. I hope this helps.
P.S. I'm only 5'2" and it is very comfortable to push.

I have a Combi umbrella-type stroller that fits my 1 1/2 yr old daughter (she's really tall and only 22.5 pounds), and it's easy to push outside (on paved or gravel walks) and folds up for carrying pretty easily. I don't know what the model number is, but it's got light green accents. It cost me around $45 on Amazon.com (shipping included) and I've seen it in Babies R Us, although there it was close to $70. I'm just 5'2" so it's been perfect for me to throw in the car on short trips or a walk around the neighborhood. I also have a heavy stroller-system, a Graco Metrolite, which is anything but light! It's great for long trips or vacations, but I prefer my Combi 3 out of 4 trips.

I would highly recommend the Combi Cosmo. What is great about it is that it is very easy to manuever with one hand. I found this feature great, and that most other strollers I tried you just couldn't manuever well one handed. It is very light and is easily carried with a strap over the back. Another great feature is that when it folds up, it stands up on its own. You don't have to lean it against something. All of these features are important if you are going out on your own with your child, especially once s/he gets older and sometimes stays in the stroller, and sometimes gets out of the stroller and walks around. I am also 5 feet and found this stroller was the right height for me.

I have a zooper twist I love. I got a new model from the prior year on ebay for $80 and it is sturdy. It includes a rain cover, a UV cover, and a foot muff at no extra charge. It has a big canopy with a window you can look through too. I'm 5'6" but it seems like it would work for someone not as tall. It's easy to fold and easy to use. It doesn't have a tray but it has a few pouches (one which is good for holding a bottle of water). I walk alot and it's held up great for the last year. My only complaint is the basket in bottom is small and a bit hard to access but you can't have everything. Just from searching real quick they have a couple of colors on Costco for $100

I have the Maclaren Volo stroller and love it, though it is expensive. Depends on how much use you think you'll get out of it. On the other hand, we cheaped out when we got a double stroller and got Jeep and I really like it too. The only complaint I have about Jeep is the canopies tend to pop off easily. We just got the Jeep recently so I don't know how long it will last.

We bought the Maclaren Volo last May and I love it. It folds up and latches automatically and has a shoulder strap. It has a durable frame, a sunshade, and it very lightweight plus I felt that the mesh in the back helped my daughter stay cool last summer when we went out for walks. We also got a rainguard with ours. Also, it is great for traveling and I took her through the airport by myself in this while carrying her carseat in one hand.

Hi! My kids are about the same "spread" as yours and IKWYM about not wanting to use the big stroller. What will you be using the stroller for? Shopping? Outdoor walks? Amusement parks?

I just had a cheapo umbrella stroller - I think it was one of the freebies from BRU - and it worked fine. Mostly what I did was wear the younger one in a sling or mei tai and pushed the older one (or he walked). The stroller came in handy for times when I needed the younger one contained - like at the dentist. But the more I used my carriers, the less I used the stroller.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your Q, but I just wanted to offer another suggestion from someone who's BTDT.

Hi, I have a 10month old and I, too, am tired of lugging around my travel system stroller, especially now since my daughter has moved into a forward facing car seat. I just picked up an umbrella stroller for 20 bucks at Babys R us... spending up those gift cards I've been hoarding! They have a selection of four colors, bright green, orange, grey or pink. I got the orange one and I haven't used it since I bought it, but it does come with an umbrella! I wish I could find an umbrella stroller that leans back but I think I'm out of luck on that one. Go to Walmart ot Target and buy a cheap one, they work great and are perfect for shorter people, actually, anyone over 5' will have to stoop a bit. Don't pay a lot for something that is cheap and can be used over and over.

I have the chicco capri. It is great! and it only weighs 11 lbs.! Good luck

My McClaren Volo rocks my world. It was light and easy to fold quickly and carry into the NY subway in one arm with my baby in the other. We now live in a rural suburb and it's still great on sidewalks and in the mall. It takes up no space folded in the car. It is easy and smooth to maneuver. I am 5'9" and I have to bend over a little too much to push it which is my only complaint. Many people ask me where I got it because it's so light and attractive.

Hi K., I am a mom of two kids with a neck disability I had to find a stroller that was light weight and one that I didn't have to bend over much or was hard to open. The only stoller that worked for me in weight and height was the Maclarean. I have two and love them more than any other stoller I have had or seen. I know they are pricey but they are so worth it. sorry i can't help you with those strollers you have looked at already but i can tell you to test them out in the store if possible. i got the jeep lightweight stroller and i contantly kick the wheels and the shade ended up warping out of shape for no apparent reason within the first year. i had a cheapo no name brand umbroller from years ago (someone left at our house) that was so much more comfortable. before putting in a larger chunk of money into one of those more pricey brands, i would suggest really testing them out first!
