I love Rollie Pollies in Gilbert, they are on McQueen & Warner. The prices are online also. My daughter has been going for a year to classes, & they have open gym times a few times per week.
I have triplet 14month olds and it is so hot that it has become difficult to spend any time that is not in the house or a shopping trip! My kiddos are BORED (me too :)). I am looking for reccomendations for indoor groups/activities. Anyone with experience with Gymboree or Litte Gym or any others I might not know about?? Thanks!
Thanks for the responses ladies!
I have set up a trial day with the little Gym, I tried Gymboree but they have a 1-parent per child rule, hmph! I will call Rollie Pollies on Monday to see about thier policy.
Thanks for the schedule advice, we have a scheudle and have since day one! I am lucky that my kiddos are very mellow and love outings so managing all three while out is not an issue, its just finding a place to go out to (that isnt a million degrees! :))
Anyway, we are excited about trying Little Gym this week!
Thanks again-
A.

we did a semester at the little gym. overall, it was good, but for the money, it felt like a lot of the same thing over and over again week after week. also, it felt like a prep course for getting your kids into gymnastics, which i'm not into. one thing that bothered me was that they themed a class after a disney movie and it felt like i paid a heap to get a 45-min advertisement for disney. that ticked me off. i am going to try gymboree next time.
we also did swimming lessons, which were awesome. he really enjoyed that.
we are currently doing music together and it's great! it's cheaper than the little gym, and developmentally, it is feeling like it's doing a lot for him. (he's 12 mos). it's not quite as physical as the gym or swimming, but there a lot of moving around, dancing, etc.
good luck!
I love Gymboree! We've been going since my daughter was 3 months old. They have a summer pass too, so you can go all 5 days a week if you want. They are closed this upcoming week for the Fourth, but will open again Monday the 7th.
AZ Museum for Youth is fun too (downtown Mesa, The Natural History Museum (also downtown Mesa) has PSI-Poop Scene Investigation which is a fun exhibit for the kids. I haven't been yet, but the Youth Museum in downtown Phoenix is supposed to be pretty neat too, and brand new.
I love the little gym, I have been taking my son there since he was 4 months, he is now almost 2. I love the philosophies behind what they do and why they do it. I know my son has benifited from going their, not only physically, but mentally and socially as well.
Wow Triplets Congrats. I live in Colorado and I use parks and recs for my dd and she loves it. You may be able to find things at the local library such as story time or maybe a puppet show. My dd does swimming and gymnastics. We just started a arts class that gives her some social atmosphere. When I did live in AZ we used to take my niece to chuck e cheese to run and play. My mom would take her to the mall to the play area and there are usually a few kids. I hope this helps and gl.
Hi A.,
I can imagine taking three 14 month olds out on a day trip can be exhausting.
Staying home and self contained would be ideal if I were in your shoes.
A few brainstorms came to my mind while contemplating running away too. (humor)
Do you have a tile floor? If not then a shower curtain
on the carpet. Buy a 2 ring swimmng pool and fill it with
water for indoor water fun!! Not to deep because you will have to lift it and dump the water out when done.
If you can find a box that had a frig or washer in it.
Cut open a window and glue on some material to make a curtain.
Creating a sock puppet show and use this to teach in a fun way.
Anything Elmo with the music to excericise.
For a short time I did day care with toddlers.
Wow was it really scheduled so I will share.
After breakfeast
From 8:00 am to 9:00 am was arts and crafts at the table.
Choosing a theme is quite simple just pick one.
Clean up go wash hands.. etc.,
10am to 10:20 am outside riding toys and playing.
Bring inside and Change Diapers. Again wash hands.
Then a healthy snack like crackers and cheese some fruit.
10:30 morning NAP and trust me they laid on the floor with their blankets and mat all the same color.
With disney radio and with out exception they had to
fall asleep. Most slept for an hour. Some longer and 90 minutes was max. Lights on and music off. The children picked up their mats and stacked them and put their blanket in the special box.
Change diapers! Wash their hands.
LUNCH and all had the same food and sat together.
Not ever a cold sandwhich. More like a small dinner.
Meat, veggies, bread, fruit, milk.
Story time, puppet theater etc.,
1:30 to 1:45 out side for fresh air.
2 pm NAP
This would be the long nap up to 2 hours.
Change diapers wash their hands and a healthy snack.
4 pm free time to play with toys in a designated
location. We called it the Toy corner. It was interesting
to see them play with the toys since they were not
out on the floors all day. There was a set time for this.
They took full advantage too.
Time outs were 5 minutes and hugs were abundant.
Every day was so structured and it is important for
you to have this in your life! If you have a 11 year old in the neighborhood who would enjoy spending time with the triplets after 4 pm for a few hours to give you some management time this would allow you to do things that
at home with some peace knowing they are being entertained.
I suggest this age because they are so so ready to learn how
to make a few dollars. In fact I would offer 5.00 dollars a day for a responsible 10 -11 year old to play and watch.
If they are looking for an extra 100.00 dollars a month?
Hope these ideals are helpful.
Warm wishes
Chris
We like Jumping Party in Mesa. My one year old isn't walking yet, but loves to crawl around on the bounce houses, and loves it when I hold her and jump too They have family nights on Thursday from 3-7 PM. You should give it a try.
I looked into those classes as I have a 17 month old and nanny for an 8 month old. I found that they can be very pricey. I choose a class at the Chandler Community Center called Babies in Motion. It is half the price than the other classes. We really enjoy the class. Alsow with the two kids it was nearly impossible to get both kids in the same class and at the community center she didn't care that I had both boys. We also attend story time at the Downtown Library and the Basha Library. I hope that info helped.
