hello all!
Our insurance recently changed and we finally got the good stuff! woohoo! Anyways, I have been in the process of finding all new Doctors for everything. I got most of them covered, but I need to find a General Practitioner for myself and my husband. We take our kids to Dr. Amy Weimer in the Cedars Medical Group. Does anyone have any recommendations? In case anyone is familiar with it, our insurance is SAG Producers Health Ins.- It's a Blue Cross PPO. Thanks in advance!!! (forgot to mention...we are westsiders...live in mar vista and spend most of our time in santa monica or venice...so, if anyone knows a dr. on the westside, that would be preferable. however, i don't mind going as far as la cienega- thanks!)

With the SAG-Producers Health Plan, you can go in network, which is The Industry Health Network (TIHN), or you can go out of network, which is the Blue Cross Plan.

I have had SAG-Producers Health Plan for 14 years, and I love TIHN. Through TIHN, you have access to the MPTF Health Centers (Hollywood, West LA, Toluca Lake, Woodland Hills, Mission Hills, and Valencia). According to the California Consumer Survey, the MPTF has the highest rating in overall health care and care from a personal doctor or nurse.

And depending on the your plan level, the deductibe and copays are much less when you use TIHN vs. Blue Cross. Deductibles are $150 as opposed to $500-$750; Copays are $15-$25 vs. 20-30% of the plan's allowance.

More details on TIHN can be found at

You can also see a list and photos of all the providers.

I go to a D.O. (doctor of oestopath) in Glendale in the Verdugo Hospital medical offices and love him, Dr. Holger Bracht. D.O.s have been thru medical school and can write prescriptions but their approach is to whole body healing not just treating symptoms. Our pediatrician is Dr Anderson at the Descanso Pediatric in La Canada and they are the best I've ever had!

Maybe I am mistaken but I thought if you have SAG you have to go through the network with Bob Hope. You may want to contact someone from your insur and ask them. You should have really good benefits and it will keep your out of popcket expenses down if you see someone in the network.

Good luck!
