Hello ladies - I'm hoping you can help me out.
I'm looking for a comfortable tummy shaper. I want one that stays in place, conceals my leftover baby belly fairly well and most of all is comfortable. I have tried several and most are so constricting - they make me so uncomfortable even causing stomach pain sometimes I just can't stand to wear them. I would just like to feel a little more comfortable in my clothes - I know I'm not going to look 2 sizes smaller or have a completely flat belly - just want a little help in that area. Any suggestions are welcome.

Try Assets - available at Target. They are made by the same company that makes Spanx but a little bit cheaper and work just as well. Word of caution - hang to dry! Mine have frayed from being in the dryer so I know lay them out to dry. But they are fabulous! Lots of different styles and colors to choose from.
SPANX - Higher Power! They are AWESOME!! They cover from just under your bra line to your thighs, eliminating all the "rolls" in between!
I've heard good things about Spanx (sp?). I've not tried them myself, though I need a lot of help in that area. :)
Spanx. I know you can buy them online and some local stores. They are awesome and comfy.

I've only used the maternity ones (which are not at all restricting on the tummy), but I love my spanx.
My suggestion is just not to worry about what other people think if you have a little tumy sticking out after you just had a baby a year and half ago! Sheesh girl, you earned that gut. Flaunt it! Certainly don't put yourself in pain for the benefit of what someone might "think" if they see a pooch on you. :o)
