I need help! My daughter who is normally good natured and sweet started Kindergarten and has completely changed. Have had some family issues but nothing that I would think would bring such an adverse reaction. Can anyone reccomend a good counselor? Please not too expensive, my husband is in school and I am the only one working.
Thanks ahead of time.

I would start with the school nurse. They have contacts for district counslers that are free or they can recommend some places that do sliding scale payments.
Good luck!

My kids from time to time see Jean Valentine. She is off the tollway and Kellersprings area. Her number is ###-###-####. I saw her myself for about 3 years and my children saw her some during that time and continue to see her if I think they are struggling a little bit. She is great w/kids and adults.

The school will have a counseler on staff. Check with your school. If it makes you feel better, my son has changed a lot since he started kinder too.

let me know if you find out, because mu five year old is in a similiar situation with the family issues. And i think these issues affect our children more than we know, i would say that is whats causing here behavior. my advise would be to go through your yellow pages and just look at children psychologists, there isn't many so just call the few that you find and price them and go from there. good luck to you and me!!

The University of North Texas Dallas and Denton campus have counseling clinics that offer play therapy. The Dallas clinic is free and the Denton clinic has a small fee.
