James Avery is definitely my first choice. I had a charm bracelet growing up (I'm now 28) and most of my charms are from there. However, since you daughter is six, maybe you could start with a less expensive charm bracelet, and then maybe get a nicer one when she gets a bit older and is more responsible with jewelry. (a nice way to transition from childhood too womanhood). My niece (who is 9 now) has had a charm bracelet for a few years and most of her charms came from Walmart. They have great, inexpensive bracelets and charms that would be easy to replace if lost.
