Hello, my neighbor's daughter is nine years old and she has a nineteen months old. Last week her oldest daughter got lice from someone in school and she found out when her nineteen months old got them from her sister. She bought this shampoo. The problem is that her youngest don't want to cooperate and she is afraid the shampoo will go in her eyes or mouth. My question is there any other thing to get rid of them besides the shampoo. She washed everything (sheets, blanket, etc...)thanks in advance....

What can I do next?

On the internet there is are several products to purchase; a little pricey but they work. Shampoo is still used, but the comb is unnecessary.

I would ask her doctor or the pharmacist at any drug store, like Walgreen's, Longs or Save-On.

Hi,
YES, there is a natural product that will do it. That over the counter shampoo is extremely toxic!!!
It is called The Solution, from a mail order company called Clearwater Herbs. http://www.clearwaterherbs.com/
You have to click on "Product List" at the top, and then on "Specialty Items" at the side, and you will see it listed there. It is expensive for a gallon, but can also be used as a non-toxic cleaning product, which also works great! I bought this stuff after reading a story about a kid whose Lukemia continually came back after each time he was treated for lice with the over the counter shampoos. Horrible, the chemicals that are in that stuff, I would never put it on my kids! Anyway, this stuff works great on lice.
Good luck.

when a child contracts lice... you need to notify the school. As a school, they have parents treat their child. It's mandatory. At least in my state. Also look online for any proven remedies. The school should be sending home instructions on what to do. Yes, and treating the household linens, hair brushes etc. is a must. Also contact the Pediatrician for anything they prescribe.
Good luck.

There is an electronic lice comb that you can get from the pharmacy. It kills the lice on contact. You shouldn't rely on the shampoos alone; they can't be relied upon to kill the nits (eggs). The pesticide shampoos (e.g.: Rid) contain potentially dangerous chemicals. You have to go through the entire head anyway; it might as well be with the electronic comb. If you don't comb, the nits stay "glued" to the hair follicles - and even treated ones can hatch up to two weeks later. Gross. I think the comb is about $30. I had a daycare child years back, who kept getting lice. Her mom kept putting those shampoos on her, which you should NEVER do, repeatedly. I couldn't take it anymore. That's how I finally took care of it. WASH everything. Those sprays are just more pesticides. Lice don't jump or fly; they'll stay where they drop.

Hi F.,
I work for a wellness company that does have a "natural" lice remedy. It works very well and she would be fine to use it on the baby. It is something she would have to order on line, but it's not expensive, but it would take a about 3 days to ship, (which is a long time with lice...)

I think you should cut her hair a little but not major and buy lice shampo, wash all the blankets, cloths, ect
And check there hair all the time and then take out all the eggs from the hair.

Trust me i should know this my mom is a hair stylist and i want to try to get my lisence too, so that way i can have a part time job as a cosmetoligist and then be a middle skool councler.

well tell me what happens
bye!
