YMCA! I had my oldest when I was 20. I joined the YMCA to work out because they had childcare. Then I found out they had play classes and then I met the other moms from the play classes.

What you will find is there is little difference between 20 and 30 when you have the common interest of kids. I was the youngest of our group but I never felt like it.

Check out the ymca in your area and see if they have any mom and baby classes. I met a BUNCH of moms that way.

Check the local hospital. In Sarasota, we had a mom's group that went up to 1 year-old babies. That was 8 years ago, and I am still close friends with 5 of the ladies. I had just moved into the area when I delivered, and didn't know anyone. My dd had colic really bad, so I didn't go until she was 3 1/2 months. It turned out, they were even use to babies screaming, but welcomed me anyway. Also, look online, we have a lot of free mom's group in our area.

Hi Mama
As Theresa said you can hang out here.
Seriously sometimes I have more communication here than I have with people in my area.
The thing is I feel lonely sometimes too.
We moved around 4 yrs ago so all my girlfriends are a 3 hr drive away. I get to see them approx 3-4 times a year.
I am not one for making friends for the sake of it ,I have to have a natural connection with someone.
I talk to other Mums at the park etc
Keep smiling

also meetup.com - put your zip code in and type "mom groups" or something like that in the search.

I had to smile at your comment about being desperate. Guess its a natural state for a 21 year old mother. Been there, done that, have a trio of grownups to prove it ;-D
At times, it wont be easy. Others, not so bad. I've found Mamapedia is an excellent site for moms questions. Get to know your neighbors, they are your closest "family". Visit a nearby park. You'll find other mothers there, too
Congratulations on your baby.

Aww....I am sorry.

I meet alot of SAHM's when I take my baby to play groups. Look up Kid's Activity Centers, Baby gyms, Baby and Mommy Yoga, and Mommy and baby playgroups in your area. The one I go to is only 8$ for a day, the babies have a good time, and you will meet some moms. Good luck!
