Cost Plus is another one.
Hi there
Does anyone have a recommendation for a local store with nice modern or contemporary paintings and prints? I live in the South Bay.Anywhere in the Bay Area is fine. Reasonably priced is best. I've checked Aaron Brothers, TJ Max, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn. Any other suggestions?
Thanks so much,
C.
They were all great suggestions. I really like the art at Z Gallery. Etsy has cool stuff too. I had forgotten about it. Thanks everyone!
Cost Plus is another one.
You didn't mention MIchaels..It is very reasonable and quite crowded with all sorts of things, but you can sometimes find something good. I paint so I get my frames there.

Hi C., have you tried Michaels for prints? Another great place where they have a large variety is located on Santana Row...it is called ZGallery. They have alot of really fun things in that store and reasonably priced. Good Luck
Hey C.!
I was at Z Gallery the other day with a friend and they had alot of options for prints and unique wall hangings. Another great source for orginal artwork is etsy.com. Everything on the website is handmade and the money goes directly to the crafter or artist. They make searching for items really easy cause you can search by color, if you are trying to match a color scheme, or by subject, like leaves or fish or whathave you. The other nice thing is that because you are buying directly from the artist the costs are usually afforadble.
Good luck!

Hi C.,
I am a local artist, Palo Alto, and do commissions and share a small studio/showroom at Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park. Since art is such a personal choice, I can give you my website link and you can view the work to see if it fits what you are looking for. I have a group of abstracts that might fit what you are describing. I can also second ETSY. It is a great place to find original work and open studios in May, 2010.
take care,
M.

Try Z Gallery. I think there is one on Santana Row and one in Palo Alto.
I was going to suggest z gallery, and saw that more than one person beat me to it. I will add that the store in Palo Alto closed around Christmas time, but I believe that the Santana Row one is still there. Good luck!
